Jurgen Klopp agrees to rent Brendan Rodgers' former luxury £1.2m apartment... as new Liverpool boss says miracles are expected but asks for patience

Jurgen Klopp has got Brendan Rodgers' job at Liverpool and now it looks like he's taken his old flat!

As Sportsmail's exclusive pictures show, a smiley Klopp was out in the Sefton Park area of Merseyside and he has agreed to rent Rodgers' former apartment.

The penthouse is worth an estimated £1.2million, but Klopp will pay rent for now, about £4,000 a month, out of his own pocket.

Klopp, his wife Ulla, her son and his girlfriend were all in town to check out the new place, along with the German tactician's security man/driver and the club's liaison officer Ray Haughan.

Ulla's German Shepherd puppy also joined the new Liverpool boss and his family as they familiarised themselves with Merseyside.

Klopp, meanwhile, has called for patience as he attempts to return Liverpool to the top of the Premier League table.

Speaking to German publication Bild, Klopp said: 'I am humbled to have this chance. Lots of German coaches have been successful but not many come here. This is a big challenge for me and my coaching team.

'Liverpool have had a period without success and changed managers a lot. Now the hope is for miracles, but progress takes time.

'I had a long conversation [with John Henry]. The aim is to develop a recognisable brand of football.'

The 48-year-old got straight down to work on Saturday morning as he watched his new side's academy teams in action at the club's Kirkby ground.

German tactician Klopp was seen sharing a joke with academy director Alex Inglethorpe, Under 21 coach Michael Beale, first-team development coach Pepijn Lijnders and goalkeeping coach John Achterberg.

His former Borussia Dortmund assistant Peter Krawietz was also in attendance, increasing talk that he will join Liverpool as one of Klopp's aides.

Klopp will be hoping he is settled down in his new place of residence ahead of Liverpool's match against Tottenham at White Hart Lane on Saturday afternoon.

He also said in his first public appearance as Liverpool manager that he had 'the most interesting job in world football'.

'It is a great feeling for me, a great honour and one of the best moments in my life,' Klopp exclaimed.

'It feels like a dream. I came here with Dortmund one year ago and for me it was historical. I have been some places in the world with football but this is the most special place.

'This is maybe the hardest challenge at the moment in world football. This is the most interesting job in world football.'
