Just hours before, she was spied in a low-key 1970s-inspired ensemble.

Yet Kate Hudson turned the glamour up to full as she appeared on The Today Show in New York on Thursday.

The 36-year-old actress looked sensational in a floral, frilled blue gown as she appeared on the chat show opposite esteemed designer Michael Kors to promote a new charity initiative aiming to stamp out world hunger.

A vision in blue: Kate Hudson turned the glamour up to full as she appeared on The Today Show in New York on Thursday morning

Kate pulled out all the stops for her TV appearance as she sported a flamenco-style dress in cornflower blue, which featured a swishing, textured hem.

Her lithe limbs were on show due to the delicate spaghetti straps and midi-hemline - while her legs were made to look even longer by the addition of her nude, pointed Christian Louboutin heels.

The stunning star's hair was in a centre-parting with the rest styled into Farrah Fawcett-esque flicks, while her make-up was minimal to allow her ageless complexion to shine through.

Can't stop, won't stop when it comes to florals. Fashion is feeling this trend, and so are we. This season's florals, however, shied away from smaller flowers and opted for punchier, more abstract prints.

Kate's flowy number comes from Michael Kors, the king of jet-setting American luxury sportswear.

Upon closer inspection you'll notice that Kate's whimsical number has some ruffles on the bottom and the feminine flowers are three-dimenional, carrying all the hopeful promise of youth, in a sophisticated dress.

Kate and Michael are teaming together to promote World Hunger Day on Friday and on the show they discussed their "Watch Hunger Stop" campaign.

The purchase of watches and T-shirts can contribute to meals for hungry children and in light of the campaign, Kate was wearing a chunky gold watch by the brand.

Speaking on the show Michael said: 'Since 2013, we've delivered 10 million meals to kids around the world' while Kate added: 'You don't have to do a lot to make a difference.'

Earlier in the day, as the stunning star left her hotel to go to the show she appeared to have borrowed her look from one of her most famous movies; Almost Famous, a comedy set in the 1970s.

Kate played rock groupie Pennie Lane in the 2000 movie and looked to replicate her character in her genre-blending look.

She looked stunning in a pair of plum-hued, velvet flares which she paired with a trendy, over-sized jumper.

The blonde beauty showed off her slender shoulders as her cream jumper with lotus-shaped cut outs slipped down one arm - revealing a slender peach halter strap.

The strategically-placed cut-outs offered a slight flash of the fitness-loving star's flesh - adding a sexy touch to a baggy garment.

She wore a pair of round-lens sunglasses with a fine wire frame, which closely replicate a pair she is spied wearing in the movie.

Fresh: The stunning star was once again looked remarkably fresh despite hinting she had a hangover after living it up in Hollywood on Tuesday night.

She arrived at the airport in Los Angeles, en route to NYC, wearing a black vest, skinny faded denim jeans and pointed toe black boots.

She had on some light makeup and once again wore her Almost Famous style sunglasses as she carried a purse in one hand and a coat and cell phone in the other.

She was all smiles after her night out where she joined pals Gwyneth Paltrow and Nicole Richie to celebrate 50 years of iconic makeup brand La Mer.
