A housekeeper who was fired from her job in February after 13 months of working at Dr Dre's home in California and being paid $1,870 per week has filed a lawsuit claiming she was unfairly let go.

Raquel Sagustume claimed Dre - aka Andre Young - and his wife Nicole failed to stop other staff members from bullying her and she was terminated after the poor treatment put her in the hospital.

Sagustume alleged the other workers felt threatened by her skills so they gave her extra work.

The extra duty caused Sagustume to suffer physically and a 'burning pain' that began in her neck and spread to other parts of her body led to her suffering a panic attack, the Daily News reported.

She is seeking punitive damages for discrimination and harassment as well as compensation for missed payments for overtime, missed meals and vacation time.

Dre, 50, sold his Beats by Dre brand to Apple for about $3billion.

The famous rapper and producer apologized 'to the women I've hurt' as reports of past altercations with women resurfaced around the release of the N.W.A. biopic Straight Outta Compton in August.

Apple, which has made Dre an executive, said the company believed in the rapper's sincerity.

'Dre has apologized for the mistakes he's made in the past and he's said that he's not the same person that he was 25 years ago,' Apple said in a statement.

'After working with him for a year and a half, we have every reason to believe that he has changed.'
