But Demi Lovato took her dedication to her devotees one step further on Thursday night as she put on a surprise, a cappella style performance in New York's Times Square.

The 23-year-old singer beamed as she wandered among the unsuspecting tourists, looking incredible as she showcased her slim figure in double denim.

The former Disney Channel actress wowed the thousands who'd gathered, not just with her voice - but with her impressive outfit choice too.

Demi showed off her toned abs in a matching denim two-piece, consisting of a tiny crop top and high-waisted flares.

The high-neck, sleeveless, military-style top was decorated with contrasting stitching and gold buttons.

Demi finished off the look elegantly with towering, platform, black peep-toe heels, which she sauntered expertly in.

Ensuring to stay warm on a chilly October night - the raven-haired beauty layered her outfit with a long, camel-coloured tailored coat.

She wore her glossy locks loosely around her shoulders and highlighted her naturally pretty features with bronzer, pink lipgloss, and a thick coating of dark mascara.

The former X Factor judge had been dropping hints to her followers on Twitter and Instagram about the upcoming gig.

Demi was no doubt just warming herself up for the release of her new album Confident, which was released on Friday.

The star is in good spirits once again, after telling her fans a fortnight ago she was 'heartbroken' following the death of her beloved great-grandfather.

Sharing a black and white picture of her 'Papa', the singer asked her 23.6million followers to pray for her great-grandmother after he passed away aged 88.

Alongside a picture of her beloved relative and her puppy Buddy, who passed away in July after an accident, she wrote on Instagram: 'My two favourite Buddy's are now playing in Heaven.

'My heart is absolutely broken and I can't even begin to imagine a world without my Papa but I know one day we'll meet again and that's what keeps me going.

'I hate writing this... But RIP Papa... I miss you so much already. I love you. Please keep my Mimaw in your prayers [sic].'
