Gigi Hadid cut a somber figure as she stepped out with her beau Joe Jonas on Saturday during an outing in New York City's Tribeca neighbourhood.

The 20-year-old model has remained quiet on social media in recent days, with her most recent tweet posted on October 14, which read: 'Praying for Lamar.

'Important to so many that are important to me.'

Gigi is BFFs with Kendall Jenner who, along with her famous family, are going through a rough time.

Kendall's former brother-in-law Lamar Odom, who is the estranged husband of Khloe Kardashian, was in a coma for three days after collapsing at a Las Vegas brothel from a suspected overdose.

The former LA Lakers star awoke from his coma on Friday, and on Saturday was reported to be breathing without the assistance of a ventilator, according to TMZ.

But his health his long-term health prognosis still remains in the balance, with some of his major organs not responding.

Gigi, meanwhile, appeared somber while stepping out in NYC on Saturday, going make-up free for the outing and hiding behind a pair of large shades.

The Maybelline brand ambassador covered up with a large black peacoat while showing off her slim legs in black athletic tights which she teamed with trendy grey trainers.

Joe, 26, seemed to be trying to lay low as well, sporting a black hoodie, matching tracksuit trousers, and trainers.

Working out? Gigi frequents Gotham gym, where she loves to box

Later, the pair were seen together in co-ordinating Gotham gear, appearing to have worked out at Gotham Gym in New York's West Village.

Gigi, who regularly frequents the gym, told Elle in February that boxing is her favourite workout.

Meanwhile, the lovebirds recently collaborated on the professional front, as Gigi directed Joe's latest music video.

The superstar Jonas Brothers and his new band DNCE just released a new music video for their debut single Cake by the Ocean.

Entertainment Weekly posted the video on their site and revealed that it was directed by none other than Joe's supermodel girlfriend.

Joe was very complimentary when talking about is beau boss, claiming 'she’s always had a high creative eye so she came up with concept and we rolled with it, she was a good boss.'

Despite being a fairly new group, DNCE, composed of Joe Jonas, JinJoo Lee, Cole Whittle and Jack Lawless, has already established itself as a high profile musical act.

Big time sponsors for the video included Guess for all of the swimwear and the mobile dating app Bumble.

Gigi is a model for Guess, so that may have helped with that connection.
