The father of Lamar Odom's best friend has spoken out as the basketball star lies in a coma inside a Las Vegas hospital.

Guillermo Castillo - who lost his son Jamie Sangouthai in June as the result of a flesh-eating bacteria he caught through intravenous drug use - said he thinks Lamar and Jamie had a 'death wish.'

In an interview with the New York Daily News, Castillo said: 'I think Lamar is done. I think most of it is because he missed my son so much.

'I think deep inside they had a death wish, or a wish to die together. It sounds very cold-blooded, but I have a hard time controlling my emotions.'

Meanwhile, surveillance video obtained by The National Enquirer from inside the Love Ranch brothel in Parhump shows the basketball star as he 'pops a pill into his mouth' shortly after his arrival on Saturday afternoon.

The owner of the brothel has also claimed in an interview that Lamar wanted to meet the establishment's lone transsexual prostitute when he arrived on Saturday.

Khloe Kardashian remains by Lamar's side in a Las Vegas hospital and on Thursday was joined by Caitlyn Jenner according to the New York Daily News.

Castillo said of Lamar and Jamie's friendship: 'They were so close. They wouldn't even go to the bathroom without asking the other. They couldn't live without each other.'

Jamie was the best man at Lamar's 2009 wedding to Khloe, and also appeared on the couple's E! reality show Khloe & Lamar.

And while Castillo had nothing but kind words to say about Khloe, he did say that he warned Lamar to avoid the pitfalls of fame when the basketball star called him in June shortly after Jamie's death.

'I told him, "I'm a street kid, walk the F away from everything right now because Hollywood is going to eat you up and spit you out too." But he had money and status. Why would he listen to me?' said Castillo.

That was the last time he spoke to Lamar, saying that despite repeated attempts to reach out he never was able to get in touch because he would constantly change his phone number.

Lamar suffered tragedy yet again shortly after Jamie's death, when another friend - Bobby Heyward - died of a drug overdose.

Lamar, 35, remains in a coma and on a ventilator in a Las Vegas hospital with his estranged wife Khloe Kardashian by his side.

People now reports that those close to him are starting to brace themselves for what may happen.

'It's hard for Khloé. He is on his last leg,' said a source.

'Everyone wanted to hope for the best, but nothing has changed. Now they are preparing for the worst.'

He has not regained consciousness since he was found passed out at the Love Ranch in Parhump on Tuesday afternoon.

He arrived at the ranch on Saturday and spent $75,000 over the course of his stay, partying with prostitutes Ryder Cherry and Monica Monroe.

He selected the girls from a parade-like lineup that was presented to him inside his VIP suite at the establishment.

Among those included for him to pick - reportedly at his personal request - was transsexual Love Ranch worker Madison Montag.

'In the car on the way out there [from Las Vegas] he talked about the fact that he had met Madison Montag, our transsexual prostitute, online … and he wanted to meet her,' ranch owner Dennis Hof said in an interview with Todd Shapiro and Jay Brady of Sirius XM 168’s Todd Shapiro according to Radar Online.

Hof claimed the two had met through Instagram.

Over the course of his four days at the brothel, Odom consumed 10 'Herbal Viagra' pills and had consumed cocaine on Saturday according to the 911 call which was made on Tuesday afternoon shortly after his body was found.

It is not known what - if any - other drugs he may have consumed.

He also consumed most of a bottle of cognac while eating steaks and KFC.

It was Ryder and Monica who discovered him on Tuesday a little after 3pm, with the two claiming he seemed to be fine when they went to bring him food at noon.

The 911 call also revealed that he had a red substance coming out of his nose and mouth when his body was turned on its side.

Investigators are looking into whether Odom had visitors during his time at the brothel and what phone calls he may have made from there.

Detective Michael Eisenloffel, who is probing the incident, refused to say what items of the star's were taken away after he was taken to hospital and if there were any drugs or drug paraphernalia found in the room.

Lamar was rushed to the nearby Desert Valley Hospital where doctors intubated him, but he did not regain consciousness. He was then to be airlifted into Vegas, but had to be taken in an ambulance to Sunrise Hospital when it was determined he was too tall to fit into a chopper.

He suffered multiple strokes and kidney damage and has only a 50/50 chance of survival, according to reports.

Despite a report from Radar Online that cited multiple sources who claim Lamar is brain dead, there has been no comment from the hospital or members of the family on his condition.

Entertainment Tonight reported that he had squeezed Kim's hand on Wednesday and that his eyes had fluttered at one point.

On Tuesday night, Khloe Kardashian, Kris Jenner and Kim Kardashian flew to be with Lamar in the hospital, with Khloe remaining by his side ever since.

On Wednesday afternoon, Kourtney Kardashian and Kylie Jenner arrived and later that day they were joined by Lamar's children Destiny and Lamar Jr. along with their mother Liza Morales and his aunt JaNean Mercer.

His children later released a statement saying; 'Thanks for your outpouring of prayers and support for our dad. We are here with our family and friends. We appreciate everyone respecting our privacy at this time. We ask for your continued prayers.'

Morales and Lamar were set to appeared in civil court next week in New York to settle a dispute over child support payments and custody of their two children.

Lamar has also been visited by his father Joe, former teammates including Kobe Bryant, the Reverend Jesse Jackson and Caitlyn Jenner is reportedly set to travel to the hospital.

Kim's husband Kanye West has not been seen at the hospital and Kourtney's ex Scott Disick is not able to visit as he recently entered rehab in Malibu.

It is still unclear what may have caused Lamar to become so upset in the days leading up to Tuesday, but according to individuals at the ranch he received a phone call on Sunday that made him depressed.

Hof claims that he believes it had something to do with a repeat episode of Keeping Up With the Kardadshians that had aired that day.

According to Radar Online, Odom had 'pleaded' with Khloe to stop recording his phone calls for her reality show, but she reportedly ignored his requests, saying he deserved the bad press for the way he treated her during their marriage.

'Khloe would either ignore the texts and voice mail messages asking her to stop, or she would tell him, "You owe me this after you humiliated me by cheating with other women,"' the source said.

This comes from an insider who told the gossip site that they believe the Kardashians 'have blood on their hands' for 'demonizing and exploiting' Odom on their show.

'Lamar had no idea that he was going to be Khloe's storyline during the past season. She is always talking about how much she loves the guy, but has no problem exploiting Lamar for her gain. How low can Khloe go?' the source asked. 'Lamar would call her sobbing about losing his best friend this past summer, and the first thing she thinks is to document it?'

This echos previous statements from brothel owner Dennis Hof and prostitutes at his 'Love Ranch' who said Odom became 'irate' and inconsolable after talking to someone on the phone on Sunday, allegedly about his portrayal on the show.

While Odom and Khloe have been separated since 2013, he has still remained a central point on the family's reality show. One plot point on a recent episode involved Kim getting mad at Khloe for 'flirting' with her ex-husband on the phone.

The two signed divorce papers in July, but their split has not been finalized, so Khloe has been by Odom's side at the hospital, making medical decisions for him while he is in a coma.

All of the Kardashian girls posted a statement Thursday saying; 'As a family we've decided to hold off on publishing content across our apps while we continue to support and pray for Lamar.'

The family's reality show is on hiatus at this time and there has been no filming over the past few days.

Kim had planned on having her baby shower this weekend but has since cancelled the event given the circumstances, which was to be held at the same Beverly Hills estate where Lamar and Khloe were married.

Kylie was seen Thursday afternoon back in Los Angeles and visiting boyfriend Tyga on the set of his new music video.

THE LOVE RANCH: LEGAL BROTHEL WHERE LAMAR ODOM WAS FOUND UNCONSCIOUS

Lamar Odom was found unconscious on Tuesday afternoon by two prostitutes named Ryder Cherry and Monica Monroe at Dennis Hof's Love Ranch, the legal brothel where he was partying for days.

The establishment in Crystal, Nevada, is just one of the sex-for-cash businesses in the state owned by the star of the HBO series Cathouse, who also has the Moonlite BunnyRanch in Carson City.

The Love Ranch, which is located about 80 miles north of Las Vegas, offers a number of services including 4-Play for Two, Oil Wrestling, Viagra and Vibrators, and the Girlfriend Experience (GFE).

Hof, a 68-year-old Arizona native, bought the Love Ranch in 2010, Las Vegas Weekly reported. He owns nine brothels and a strip club in Nevada, according to CNBC.

In addition to a VIP section, the newly renovated Love Ranch features a bar and massage rooms. The Love Ranch and Hof's other brothels also have Jacuzzi rooms, hot tubs, and water rooms.

There are sometimes as many as 50 women working on-site at the 24-hour brothels and they are open 365 days a year in order to provide services with no appointment required.

Patrons are allowed to attempt to 'line up' one of the ladies beforehand online, but they can also just go to the bar and drink to try and find a date.

The ranch accepts credit and debit cards and shows up on bills as 'Cash Advance, Lake Tahoe'. Cash is also accepted and although tipping is not required, it is somewhat encouraged.

Between all of the ranches, including the Love Ranch, there are more than 500 licensed ladies and each one of the brothels typically services between 50 and 100 clients per day. Among the options for customers at the Love Ranch is the GFE, which is described on the brothel's website: 'Imagine a girl you can truly be yourself around. A lady you can share your erotic desires and intimate moments with. Someone who is always happy to see you, accepts you for who you are, as you are and is waiting to fulfill your every need - physical, emotional, sexual... with no strings attached.'

The women who work at the ranch are independent contractors so there are no set prices in place, but customers at the brothel reportedly have to shell out hundreds of dollars to get tended to.
