His father Gerard Piqué boasts a successful career playing for FC Barcelona, while his mother has paved the way for herself in music.

But while he has two equally appealing careers to look up to, Shakira has revealed that her young son Milan already has his heart set on becoming a football player.

Speaking about motherhood in a new interview with MadeForMums at the Fisher-Price Early Development Forum in New York, the 38-year-old singer revealed her two-year-old is already 'obsessed' with the sport and even wears his football shirt to bed.

'Right now, Milan is OBSESSED with football,” she giggled.

'He’s the biggest Barca fan on the planet. He sleeps with the Barca jersey on, he sleeps with the ball, he doesn’t miss one match. He knows every single team, including England teams. He wears the t-shirt of all the teams.'

The Whenever Wherever hit-maker, who is also the mother of eight-month-old Sasha, also confessed that she is guilty, like so many other smitten mothers, of smothering her boys in kisses, constantly.

'I’m very touchy-touchy, hug them and kiss them… to death. Very intense! I think they’re going to leave my house at 18 and say ‘Bye mum. I’m outta here,' the Colombian beauty quipped.

But while the Hips Don't Lie crooner relishes in every moment of motherhood, she does admit that it can be hard work, describing it as 'the most difficult job I've ever had.'

'I’ve performed in front of difficult audiences. I’ve met world leaders. But nothing has made me so self-conscious as being a mum. Everyday I wonder if I’m doing the right thing.'

Shakira and Gerard started their family at the start of 2013, having met in spring 2010 and dated for just over two years.

Meanwhile, the curly-haired blonde has followed in the footsteps of Kim Kardashian in launching an app, which centres around an animated game featuring the star herself.

The app is called Love Rocks and Shakira has taken to using the hash tag of the game's name in her social media posts - as seen in her shot with her boys.
