A Houston-area man who targeted an African-American senior for a knockout was sentenced on Friday to almost six years in federal prison, officials said. Conrad Alvin Barrett, 29, punched 79-year-old Roy Coleman to the ground in Katy, Texas, in November 2013 in a hate crime he carried out with his cellphone camera rolling, according to the U.S. Department of Justice. The vicious blow from the white Texan, fractured Mr Coleman's jaw in two places.

The Great Depression was one of America's darkest chapters in history with many people suffering all over the country. Between 1935 and 1944, the federal government sent photographers across the country to document the nation in an effort to show the success of their programs. Famed photographers Dorothea Lange and John Collier captured dozens of haunting images in San Francisco showing the plight many faced during that time.

The jumping Joey was spotted bouncing around on the street outside of Alb's Auto Repair Shop on Staten Island and a witness was able to shoot a brief video (pictured). Police were called in to investigate where the kangaroo came from and they discovered that it had escaped from its owner's home. After a brief hopabout in NYC's least-populated borough, the kangaroo was reunited with its owner.
