Cate Blanchett wows in stunning embellished gown with plunging neckline as she hits the red carpet for the London Film Festival premiere of her new movie Truth

She's already won one red carpet in London this week when she stunned in a midnight blue dress at the premiere of Carol on Thursday night.

But fast forward to Saturday, and Aussie actress Cate Blanchett once again pulled out all the stops for the BFI London Film Festival premiere for her other major new movie, Truth.

The 46-year-old chose a colourful embellished gown for her big night, which showed off her enviable figure with its plunging neckline.

Cate looked incredible in the statement dress, with the black velvet midi-length number brightened up with some intricate embellishment scattered across the bodice.

With a low-cute neckline, the dress perfectly highlighted Cate's figure and flawless skin, while she added a pair of glittering heels to amp up the glam factor.

The actress' blonde locks were styled into a chic up do, with a side-swept fringe.

Look blooming beautiful in a floral dress like Cate's

If you thought florals were just for summer, think again. Whilst long sunny days call for floaty flower print dresses in pastel hues, autumn is all about moody blooms in jewel tones.

And this leading lady, Cate Blanchett has hit the nail on the head with this couture piece from Schiaparelli's Fall/ Winter collection.

And while we'd love to say that you could shop this gorgeous dress, the sad/ disappointing thing about couture pieces is that they are often one of a kind.

But that dosn't mean we can't be inspired by Cate's red carpet appearance in trying to recreate the look with selections from the high street. So have a look at the edit below and stun at your next soiree.

In Truth, the Australian star plays producer Mary Mapes opposite Robert Redford 's US newsman Dan Rather, with the film documenting the controversy around a 2004 report on 60 Minutes about George W. Bush's national guard service.

Network CBS was forced to revoke the story amid a storm of controversy, and the ensuing scandal ended Marples' and Rathers' careers.

'It's emblematic of the problem that readers face in trying to get to anything resembling the truth,' the Oscar-winning actress, who plays Mapes in the movie recently told Reuters. 'The film asks, did the punishment meted out by CBS merit the so-called crime?'

The film has already led to buzz that the role could earn Blanchett her third Oscar. However, the actress may be her own worst competition, as there is also talk she may be also nominated for lesbian love drama Carol.
