Gwen Stefani cuts a chic figure in tartan culottes and silk bomber as she leaves concert rehearsals in New York

She's famed for her experimental dress sense as much as she is her musical prowess.

And Gwen Stefani combined the two seamlessly as she slipped into an effortlessly chic ensemble for her latest round of concert rehearsals in New York City on Friday.

The mother-of-three looked youthful below her years as she was pictured leaving the Hammerstein Ballroom dressed in two must-have autumnal items - culottes and a bomber jacket.

Grab a leopard pump like Gwen

Since her early days in No Doubt when she wore masculine Dickies, white tank tops and Indian bindis on her forehead, Gwen has always heard her own sartorial drummer.

Plain to see she hasn't lost her touch. Here, leaving rehearsals in New York City, Gwen paired a fabulous black bomber with a knitted collar, green plaid drop-crotch cropped pants and a pair of leopard-print Christian Louboutin "So Kate" pumps.

We love the clash of leopard print and plaid and it works as long as you keep things simple on top, as Gwen has. Any more prints and you'd have visual stimulation overload. You'll notice Gwen's shoes has a bit of shine, a la patent leather. Click right to get Gwen's exact pair at Barneys New York.

But you can get the same look in the calf hair as well. See below, because we've rounded up leopard-print pumps starting at only $32.99!

Gwen, 46, worked the green tartan trousers with confidence as she strutted out of the venue after a late-night practising session.

She teamed the statement pants with a black silk bomber which featured a rope-knitted neck and which she wore zipped all the way up, concealing her plain black top underneath.

The talented songstress proved she's not afraid to clash prints as her choice of Christian Louboutin court heels were emblazoned with a leopard pattern.

While Gwen was preened to perfection, favouring a heavily made-up face, which included flirty eyelashes, a bold red lip and pristine contouring, her choice of hairstyle was comparably low-maintenance.

She scraped her famously-sleek long blonde locks into a messy but practical bun.

The former No Doubt lead singer is performing at the Manhattan-based venue on Saturday night.

The concert is a one-off performance in association with MasterCard.

It'll be good practice for the chart-topper who is planning on releasing her third solo album this year - her first in ten years.

So far, she has recorded songs with fellow The Voice judge Pharrell Williams and Eminem which are expected to feature on the release.

Being back in the studio has no doubt taken her mind off her recent split from husband and father of her three sons Gavin Rossdale.

The married couple confirmed they are to divorce after 13 years in August, saying: 'While the two of us have come to the mutual decision that we will no longer be partners in marriage, we remain partners in parenthood and are committed to jointly raising our three sons in a happy and healthy environment. To that end, we respectfully request privacy from the media during this time,' in a statement released at the time.
