The chat show doyenne quit award-strewn spell on The Oprah Winfrey Show in 2011, and she admits she was not prepared for the pressure of her new business venture, even after creator Lorne Michaels, 70, had warned her in advance.
She told Stephen: 'He said "oh baby, you're gonna be in for a huge learning curve, it's going to take you five years and it's going to be harder than anything you've ever done."
'And I'm going, "ahh it'l be OK."'
However she conceded the Canadian comedy king was actually right, moaning, 'It was harder than I imagined.'

The revelation led her to make her show Belief which premiers on the OWN channel this Sunday.
The programme is about a variety of world religions and spiritual paths, and what they mean to individual people's lives.
With Oprah's narration it follows people of varying age groups, across the world.
'It's bigger than religion,' said The Color Purple actress.

'But his devotion and his passion for life is something that you see throughout the series,' she noted.
Colbert mentioned another one of the show's case studies, a young boy due to have his bat mitzvah in Budapest.
'I love that story,' sighed Oprah, noting the importance of ancestry in the quest for spirituality.

'She kind of glows, like an angel,' they decided.
'Thank god I don't have to live up to you,' Colbert joked with her when she came out.
