Newsroom star Thomas Sadoski and wife Kimberly Hope divorcing after eight years

Thomas Sadoski and Kimberly Hope have split after eight years of marriage - Us Weekly has confirmed.

The actor dated casting director Hope for eight years before the couple married in 2007.

Sadoski, 39, is known for playing Don Keefer in Newsroom and also stars in new CBS comedy Life in Pieces.

The sitcom - which premiered on September 21 - also stars Colin Hanks and Betsy Brandt and follows the lives of three generations of the Short family.

Each episode split into four short stories, told from the point of view of each character and based on their own version of events.

Sadoski made his feature film debut in 2000 in Amy Heckerling's romantic-comedy Loser and also appeared opposite Reese Witherspoon in 2014's Wild.

He is also set to appear in I Smile Back with Sarah Silverman, due out October 23. 

In an interview with The New York Times in 2009, the Broadway actor revealed his acting commitments meant that he missed out on a honeymoon and his wife headed to Las Vegas with her mother and some friends instead.

'I made sure we finally got a real honeymoon - Key West,' he told the publication from his dressing room during his play Reasons To Be Pretty.

Hope was casting director for 2010's Law & Order: Criminal Intent and also worked on the Richard Gere flick Arbitrage as well as 2009 action movie The International.
