What happened lads? Chris Robshaw and Stuart Lancaster face Prince Harry and the Queen after England's World Cup exit

- Harry looked to be asking tough questions of the duo after tournament exit
- World Cup quarter-finalists Wales and Scotland were also representedÂ
It was left to Chris Robshaw and Stuart Lancaster to answer for England's early World Cup exit at Buckingham Palace, as the Queen invited the under-fire pair to a reception to mark the tournament.
Prince Harry looked as if he was sticking the boot in when he approached the duo with his hands out and a look of resignation on his face.
And while her majesty seemed pleased to host the tournament's trophy at the palace, as she beamed at The Webb Ellis Cup surely she couldn't help but think what might have been.

All three looked in good spirits at the event, despite England's poor showing at the World CupÂ
The Queen was presented with a specially commissioned 'participation medal' from the chairman of the Rugby World Cup Bernard Lapasset, and wouldn't be blamed for thinking the Frenchman was perhaps trying to rub salt into the wounds.Â
At least Lancaster and Robshaw had England's dominant win over Uruguay to fall back on for small talk, as the tournament moves on to the quarter-final stages without the hosts.
But given recent speculation, it wouldn't be a surprise if Lancaster was asking Britain's longest reigning monarch if she had any tips for staying in the job.

England weren't the only team invited to enjoy the royal company, with Scotland, Wales, South Africa and Canada among the other World Cup nations represented at the palace on Monday.
Scotland head coach Vern Cotter and his captain Greig Laidlaw showed their national pride - despite Cotter being a New Zealander - as they turned out in Kilts at the reception.
The Queen now faces the tough task of deciding which team to support in the quarter finals. Wales, Scotland and part of Ireland (with Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland competing together) are representing the Home Nations, while Her Majesty remains the official Queen of Australia and New Zealand. Queen Elizabeth II was also the last monarch of South Africa.
