- The 95th Annual Far Hills horse race saw a swarm of about 30,000 young and liquor-craving young adults hit the track for traditional boozing
- The well-dressed party-goers paid upwards of $200 to socialize with old friends who arrived in SUVs and pickup trucks overflowing with pricey foods and premium liquor
- Year after year, many of the participants have returned to the event not to watch the horse races, but to enjoy the alcohol-fueled tailgate
Tens of thousands of race-goers flocked to the village of Far Hills, New Jersey on Saturday as the town hosted its annual prestigious charity horse race, but for many of those who attended, the main event was the alcohol fueled high-end tailgate party.
The gates for the super exclusive 95th annual Far Hills race opened at 8am, allowing the well-dressed attendees to begin the day at the 230-acre Moorland Farm for the country's premier steeplechase race.
Droves of people arrived in SUVs and pickup trucks overflowing with a cornucopia of pricey foods and premium liquor.
'It's an awesome event,' Lyn Nita, 47, told NJ.com. 'It's all about good food, relaxing and catching up with family and friends. It's a great day.'

Reunion: The charity event served as a reunion day for college students, private school students and horse enthusiasts
Endless libations: The fall soiree is well-known to attract the state's elite, as many people who attended celebrated their reunions with endless beers, high end libations and luxurious liquor ice luges
Soaked: The event is New Jersey's largest--and arguably most drunken--annual autumn social gathering
The fall soiree is well-known to attract the state's elite, as many people of the more than 30,000 who attended celebrated their reunions with endless beers, high end libations and luxurious liquor ice luges.
Year after year, many of the participants have returned to the event not to watch the horse races, but to enjoy the alcohol-fueled tailgate.
Last year, event organizers increased the ticket price in an effort to limit the raunchy behavior that past inebriated attendees have displayed.
Photos from the day appear to show that a great time was had by all in attendance as liquor was chugged by several people from a piñata and several groups of different individuals were photographed kissing intensely.
Icy: Event attendees also enjoyed drinking the liquor that was flowing from the decadent ice blocks carved just for that purpose
Clad in plaid: The annual event is the chance for Jersey's upper crust to get their hands, and flannel shirts, dirty

While arrest numbers have yet to be tallied, many attendees feel that this year's event was spectacular.
'It's an event like no event in the area,' Gregor, 68, of Basking Ridge told NJ.com. 'It's so unique. And it's at the perfect time of the year.'
In recent years, the rowdy behavior that is fueled by alcohol and beer has become the norm for the tailgate.
Bottoms up: Some revelers came well-equipped for the alcohol-soaked day festivities
Light it up: Along with premium alcohol flowing freely on Moorland Farms, some guests also broke out high-end cigars to enjoy
Happy times: The trio of blondes above make clear that the good times were definitely unaffected
'It's just the younger kids,' Lauren Dowling, 33, of Bernardsville, told NJ.com. 'When we were younger, we were there. When you get older, you want to enjoy the day differently.'
According to its website, the Far Hills Race Meeting traces its origins to the Essex Hunt, a fox hunting event founded in Montclair in 1870.
Since the 1950s, the exclusive event has benefited the Somerset Health Care Foundation, which supports Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Somerset.
More than $18 million has been donated and most of the funds have been directed toward the hospital's cancer treatment center.
Laughs: General admission ticketholders were banned from bringing in alcohol, but no such restrictions applied to tailgating spots
