She is the star and creator of a hit comedy.

So it comes as no surprise that Mindy Kaling knows how to make a lasting impression, as the 36-year-old demonstrated when she arrived to PaleyFest in New York on Saturday.

The actress looked picture perfect in a gorgeous bright blue and gold traditional garment as she dropped by to discuss the latest season of her series, The Mindy Project.

Mindy also donned a pair of glittering gold and silver sandal heels for an added pop of sparkle. 

The former Office star swept her highlighted and black hair into a dramatic side part across her forehead, while letting the remainder flow freely in a straight and glossy 'do, pinned back behind her ears.

Hot red nail polish added another dimension of vibrancy, and her face glowed with light pink blush, rose hued lipstick, and fully curled lashes.

Mindy looked a complete natural as she posed with a hand resting upon her waistline, flashing a bright and wide grin for photographers. 

The actress took to Instagram to share a snap of her complete look, which she captioned: 'Headed to @paleycenter for #themindyproject in a kurtha from @frontierheritage. Hair by my baes @cnaselli and makeup by @gitabass.'

Once inside, Mindy spoke about the new chapter in the life of her character, who has just given birth to a son with her on-screen partner, Danny Castellano (Chris Messina).

'The fact that it’s not just about [Dr. Mindy] elevates the story...She has to figure out how to take care of something other than herself,' she said, according to Deadline. 

The Mindy Project is now in it's fourth season.  

Premiering in 2012 and focusing on the love and work life of an obstetrician named Mindy Lahiri, The Mindy Project has had a small but passionate audience devoted to the romantic comedy. 

It was cancelled after it's third season by Fox in May, but was then picked up by streaming service Hulu for its current season.

Meanwhile, Mindy's new book of essays Why Not Me? hit #1 on the bestseller lists earlier in October.

The book is a follow-up to her previous bestseller, Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me?
