'It wasn't love at first sight': Drew Barrymore confesses she was not swept off her feet after meeting husband-to-be Will Kopelman

Actress Drew Barrymore admitted she did not feel an instant connection when she met her husband-to-be Will Kopelman.

Art consultant Kopelman, who is the son of former Chanel CEO Arie Kopelman, began dating the 40-year-old actress in 2011.

'It was never really love at first sight,' the Charlie's Angel starlet confessed in the November 2015 issue of InStyle magazine.

'Will struck a lot of my pragmatic sides. He was someone who was always reachable on the phone, someone who was a classy human being,' Drew stated. 'Someone who has this incredible blueprint of a family that I don't have.'

'At the same time, what I love about him is that he embodies the power of choice. He chooses to be a good person every day.'

Barrymore and Kopelman had been friends for years but the Wedding Singer star wasn't the only partner who wasn't instantly lovestruck.

'Sometimes whom you least expect is the person you fall for,' Kopelman stated in an interview he conducted with Barrymore last year for Marie Claire magazine.

'It was a combination of moments: watching her with my nephew. Traveling with her. Going to museums with her. I knew, adding them up, this was it.' 

Once the couple realized they were smitten by love they got engaged in January 2012 and married only months later in June.

Barrymore is not the first hot A-list actress he has dated as his exes include Lara Flynn Boyle and Disturbia actress Sarah Roemer.

The Never Been Kissed actress has dated a bevy of Hollywood hunks including Edward Norton, Hugh Grant, Luke Wilson and Zach Braff.

The lovebirds share two daughters together, Olive who was born just months after their nuptials and one-year-old Frankie.
