Spurs scouts hope to come from Russia with Love as CSKA Moscow striker Vagner is back on Ramos' radar

Tottenham are set to reignite their interest in CSKA Moscow striker Vagner Love, but face strong competition from Fenerbahce for the Brazil international.

Spurs failed to land the 24-year-old before the last transfer deadline but are desperate to add another striker in January after struggling since the departures of Dimitar Berbatov and Robbie Keane in the summer.

Everton are also interested in Vagner Love and links with Manchester City have surfaced in Russian and Brazilian media, but Turkish side Fenerbahce could be the biggest threat to Spurs' chances of landing the former Palmeiras player.

Top target: Brazil striker Vagner Love is a wanted man

The Istanbul club have identified him as the ideal replacement for Spanish Euro 2008 winner Dani Guiza, who is said to be keen on a move home after struggling since an £11million move from Real Mallorca in the summer.

Bidding for Vagner Love is likely to start at £12m and Everton had hoped to take him on loan in January with a view to a permanent move.

He has previously said City came in for him at the end of last season but is keen not to leave CSKA for anyone other than a top European side, so Tottenham's plight might be off-putting.

Vagner Love is a colourful character both in his appearance and his private life.

He is holding an internet poll to ask fans what colour his next set of hair beads should be. He currently wears blue.

Earlier this year, the internet provided a different fascination for his followers after a video of him and Brazilian porn actress Pamela Butt appeared online.

'It's appalling,' Butt told newspaper Folha de Sao Paulo at the time. 'I'm very well paid to have sex on camera, but I earned nothing for this. I am two people: Pamela the actress and Pamela the private lady, and today the private lady is defiled.'

Vagner Love has scored five times in more than 20 appearances for Brazil and was part of their victorious Copa America side last year.

For CSKA, he has scored 72 in 154 appearances and previously struck up a very fruitful partnership with compatriot Jo, before the latter moved to Manchester City for £19m in the summer.
