Ellie Goulding, 27, might be in a happy relationship with boyfriend Dougie Poiynter, 26.

But the Burn hitmaker was probably feeling a little uncomfortable when she attended the Stella McCartney Green Carpet Collection for London Fashion Week at the at The Royal British Institute on Sunday on the arm of her current beau, only to realise her ex-boyfriend Jeremy Irvine was also in attendance.

Ever the professional, the smile didn’t slip from the popstar’s face as she kept a tight grip on the McFly bassist's hand.

Dapper dude: Jeremy, who split with Ellie last year, looked suave in a grey blazer, black shirt and jeans

Meanwhile Jeremy, 24, appeared not to have a care in the world as he sipped on a drink and chatted to his date for the night – his beloved mother Bridget Smith.

The War Horse actor also rubbed shoulders with Colin Firth, who looked dapper in a navy suit and black rimmed glasses, but didn’t seem to go out of his way to say hello to his ex.

Putting on a leggy display, Ellie’s trim pins stole the show thanks to a pair of micro-leather short shorts which she teamed with a khaki sheer vest, white ankle boots and a Cybill handbag by luxury German designer Aigner.

Dougie looked every inch the rockstar in a patterned jacket, grey jeans and a brown hat. While guests at the bash were kept refreshed as they sipped on bottles of Peroni Piccola.

Ellie and Dougie began dating at the end of 2013, several months after the blonde beauty called time on her nine month romance with Jeremy Irvine in June 2013.

In the months in between, Ellie was linked to One Direction’s Niall Horan and solo artist Ed Sheeran but has finally found The One in Dougie.

Opening up about her relationship earlier in the year to Self magazine Ellie revealed: ‘I’ve definitely met someone.’

Adding: ‘You get to know someone who makes you very happy and then you go away [on tour], right when it was just getting somewhere awesome. It’s not fun, but we can make it work.'

'Love is beyond everything, beyond the universe,’ she mused.

Prior to Jeremy, Ellie also dated producer Skrillex in 2012, as welll as a two year romance with Radio 1 DJ Greg James.

It was a whirlwind day for the star, who managed to fit in a performance at the Invictus Games Closing Ceremony and also attend the Topshop show before skipping off to Stella’s.

Despite her back-to-back commitments, it didn't stop Ellie from finishing off the night at London hotspot the Chiltern Firehouse for further celebrations.
