And Sean Penn has been making the most of the single lifestyle, partying the night away at The Nice Guy bar in West Hollywood on Sunday alongside a host of pals to celebrate actress Freida Pinto's 31st birthday.

The 55-year-old star was trying to keep a low-profile as he left the venue at the end of the night, before the birthday girl followed suit later on.

The Mystic River actor looked dapper as ever in a dark suit and a navy shirt as he made his grand exit, only to be greeted by a mob of excitable female fans.

Freida was the last member of her party to leave the venue, sporting a cute and casual outfit for her big night on the town.

The Slumdog Millionaire star highlighted her long legs in a pair of denim mini shorts, teamed with suede, lace-up flats.

When it comes to dressing, Freida Pinto mixes masculine/feminine items like the best of them. One day she's decked out in designer labels like Oscar de la Renta and Chanel but then mixes in tailored pieces from Roland Mouret.

For her 31st birthday, she kept it low key with a flirty fringe white blouse, short shorts and then balanced it out in some boyish brogues by Louise et Cie.

She coiffed her brunette bob in a fuss-free bedhead style and showcased her natural beauty by choosing to wear minimal make-up.

Meanwhile, Sean was last seen watching his ex-wife Madonna's world tour in Vancouver, Canada last week alongside comedienne Amy Schumer.

The Hollywood star, who was married to the pop queen from 1985 to 1989, was a surprise addition to the crowd since the pair had a famously volatile union.

She recently revealed she was surprised to see her ex in the audience at a recent show at Madison Square Garden, hinting the pair had patched things up.

'He had been at my show 30 years earlier when I was at Madison Square Garden, and he was very upset with me for wearing a costume that was too revealing. That's not a lie!' she told the crowd, prompted laughs from the audience.

'Anyway, after the show he wrote me a letter and said he finally appreciates my art, ' the star confessed with a coy smile.
