Nicole Kidman looks leggy in an understated black mini dress as she leaves theatre with niece following performance

She's known for her stunning sartorial taste on and off the red carpet.

And on Saturday night Nicole Kidman showcased her own take on an understated chic style, as she left the Noel Coward Theatre in London's West End following a performance of Photograph 51.

Stepping off the stage and onto the street with her 17-year-old niece, Lucia Hawley, the actress, 48, opted for a low-key but elegant all-black ensemble featuring a double-breasted blazer jacket.

Putting her own spin on chic autumnal evening-wear, the Moulin Rouge! star kept the chill evening wind at bay by teamed the long, double-breasted blazer with a halter-neck mini dress.

Slipping her lithe and enviable frame into the fitted dress, which featured cut-away strip details on the collar, the American actress highlighted her lithe and toned legs.

Rounding off her wardrobe with a pair of crocodile-skin effect leather stilettos, the actress drew further focus to her legs.

Following her performance in the play, Nicole added a laid-back tone to her look by wearing her mane of blonde hair in a loose ponytail.

The Eyes Wide Shut star wore a minimal pallet of make-up that highlighted her naturally striking features, only using a light application of mascara and a flash of berry lipstick.

Meanwhile Nicole's niece also opted for an understated and chic vibe by teaming a blazer with an open-neck semi-sheer blouse, high-waisted shorts and a pair of patent stilettos.

But Lucia isn't the only member of the actress's family to have supported her during her critically-acclaimed appearance on the West End.

Only earlier in the month she was seen strolling out of the theatre hand-in-hand with her husband Keith Urban.

Posing for a Vogue cover earlier this years, she delved into her life with her musician husband, 48, and her daughters Sunday, seven, and four year old Faith.

She told the magazine: 'It's unbelievable that we found each other and at that stage in our lives were able to connect in that way and be that open to what the future was going to be.

'But we really commit to each other and give to the relationship; our priority is to be together. I don't ever take it for granted.'

She added: 'What I have now - the life I have with Keith and with my whole family - it doesn't just tumble into your lap; it's from setting my sights on it and saying: "I so don't want to be alone, I don't want to walk this alone," and I found that.'
