His son reached the milestone age of 13 last month.

David kept it comfortable in a black long-sleeved shirt and bronze hued hat, while his son donned a dark blue beanie, grey jeans, and a pair of patterned trainers.

Romeo came prepared for the flight to Los Angeles, as he had a plush velour neck pillow attached to his backpack.

The sportsman appeared to have travelled lightly as well, walking with just a black backpack slung over his shoulders.

In addition to Romeo, the former Manchester United midfielder has three other children with his wife Victoria Beckham, Brooklyn, 16, Cruz, 10, and daughter Harper, four.

The devoted father managed to spend some quality time with his eldest son before his flight to Los Angeles earlier that day.

'In your dreams dad @davidbeckham,' Brooklyn captioned an Instagram photo of himself overtaking his father.

Recently, David finally admitted defeat and revealed that Brooklyn has overtaken him in the popularity stakes.

The doting father-of-four told how there'd been a striking role-reversal between him and Brooklyn in a interview with Manchester radio station KEY 103, saying more often than not it's the teenager who fans want to be snapped with while he's been demoted to camera-man.

Talking to hosts Mike Toolan and Chelsea Norris, he said: 'It's interesting going out with him though because he gets so much attention when we’re out.

'We normally get people now coming up and saying, "would you mind taking a picture with me?", and they’re actually talking to Brooklyn rather than myself. And I'm the one that takes the picture!'

Since retiring from his beloved sport in 2013, David has relished spending more time with his four children, as well as supporting Victoria and her world-renowned fashion line and launching his own range of whisky.
