Plague of dead sea animals killed by mystery illness wash up on a beach in Mexico, with scientists baffled and tourists warned to steer clear

Pic shows: Dead dolphins found in the area.\n\nA huge stretch of coastline has been closed to bathers and fishermen after the discovery of dozens of rare marine animals including 21 dead dolphins that have been washed up on a shore off the coast of Western Mexico.\n\nThe dolphins were found along with 11 turtles and four sea lions all of which had died from a mystery condition. Some had been washed ashore but others were simply floating in the water in the Golf Islands, near Sinaloa.\n\nWorried environmentalists have called for an in-depth investigation to try and establish what has caused the tragedy.\n\nNone of the sea creatures appeared marked or cut in any way so it was possible to rule out that they had been caught in fisherman¿s nets or run over by a cruise liner, something which also was largely ruled out because of the large number of dead animals.\n\nBut the fact that there are so many dead animals along a stretch of coast 42 km long is causing great concern.\n\nMexico's Fede

WARNING: Graphic content. Twenty-one dolphins, 11 turtles and two sea lions were found either washed up on shore or floating in shallow waters on the west coast of Mexico.
