A man has been accused of threatening to kill a former porn star - telling her he would put her 'bloody head on a stick' and use the Periscope app to live stream her death.

FBI prosecutors say Brian Blankenship, 25, told Malena Morgan he would broadcast her death, one day after the on-air shooting of a Virginia news crew in August.

He allegedly told her in online messages: 'When you walk out of your house and see me it will be too late… Your next periscope will be your bloody head on a stick.'

In other messages, he reportedly told her 'you won't see me coming' and 'I will take my own life after you’ve (sic) life is gone'.

Claiming he would carry out the shooting on video streaming app Periscope, Blakenship is said to have made the threats under the online alias 'Joe Cook'.

Periscope, an app created last year and recently purchased by Twitter, allows users to live stream video via their mobile phones.

According to The Daily Beast, Blakenship was arrested on October 8 for 'transmitting in interstate commerce a communication threatening to injure an identified individual'.

FBI agents tracked the 'Joe Cook' accounts to Blankenship in Columbus, Georgia. He was charged last week and has pleaded not guilty.

Morgan's friend Jenna J. Ross told the website she, too, had been subjected to threats from Blakenship, though she never reported him to police.

Ross, who is also a porn star, said: 'Because she’s my best friend he decided to come after me as well.

'When Malena blocked him on social media he couldn’t get to her any more, so he turned it around on me. The best way to hurt her would be to hurt me.'

The Columbus Ledger Enquirer reported that Blakenship also told Morgan via emails: 'I hope you have protection... I have a 9mm and a shotgun your dead b*tch and you won’t see me coming.'

He also claimed he would 'Periscope you're [sic] undoing', adding: 'It’s raw and I will take my own life after you've [sic] life is gone.'

His threats came after reporter Alison Parker and cameraman Adam Ward were shot dead by Vester Flanagan while they were filming a news segment on live air.

Footage of the attack, which Flanagan subsequently posted online, was broadcast to approximately 40,000 people watching WDBJ-TV in Moneta, Virginia.

Flanagan, who used the name Bryce Williams when reporting, had been let go by the TV station after many months of poor performance, during which he became aggressive towards fellow colleagues and 'always sought to play the race card', it was claimed.

In a 23-page manifesto-cum-suicide note to a national news station, he said he had faced both racial and sexual discrimination as a black, gay man and that he was just waiting to explode.

He previously sued another station over allegations of race discrimination, claiming that a producer called him a 'monkey' in 1999.
