But Kate Hudson was flying solo as she headed out on a dinner date in New York City over the weekend.

Wrapping up warm for her low-key bite to eat, the 36-year-old actress looked cosy in a cute cream wool coat, which she teamed with wool-lined wedge trainers and skinny jeans.

The Bride Wars star paired the denim trousers, which showed off her long slim legs, with a low cut, loose-fitting black top with long sleeves wearing the 14k yellow gold friendship plate necklace by ESTABLISHED Jewelry.

Kate wore her shaggy, cream knee-length coat draped around her shoulders as she strolled along in the flat, fleece-lined snow boots.

The Rock The Kasbah actress is reported to be casually dating 23-year-old singer Nick Jonas.

However, he was nowhere to be seen during Friday's outing.

She split from fiance Matt Bellamy, with whom she had four-year-son Bingham, in late 2014. The actress is also mother to eleven-year-old son Ryder, with her ex-husband Chris Robinson.

Last week, Kate finally broke her silence on the reasons behind her 'painful' split from Matt.

Opening up in the new edition of Allure magazine, she said the couple had 'different visions' of how they wanted to live their lives.

'Relationships ending are painful, and you can choose to carry that or you can choose to reframe it, she explained.

But despite their split, Kate insisted the two have done their utmost to ensure their relationship is amicable for the sake of their son Bingham Bellamy, four, and it looks as though they have succeeded.

Kate - the daughter of Hollywood actress Goldie Hawn - added: 'It's been a seamless transition. Kids just want to see their parents be cool. Everybody's cool; everybody's good.'
