'I'm obsessed with you!' One Direction's Niall Horan admits to soft spot for Lorraine Kelly during flirty appearance alongside Harry Styles on TV show

They have countless admirers across the globe, from youngsters to teens, and even their most devoted fans' parents.

But One Direction are also partial to crushes of their own, and during an appearance on ITV's Lorraine on Monday morning, Niall Horan couldn't help himself as he gushed over the iconic host.

The handsome star appeared on the show alongside bandmate Harry Styles to discuss their upcoming album Made In The A.M., but was seemingly distracted by 55-year-old Lorraine.

While Harry, 21, was on form chatting expressively about the group's fifth record, Niall, 22, seemed somewhat distracted.

Lorraine, giggling, jokingly chastised Niall as he sat quietly: 'Harry's trying to do the plug.'

To which he replied, failing to hide his blushes: 'I'm just obsessed with you Lorraine, I can't even look at you.'

He then teasingly hid his eyes behind his hand as the TV stalwart giggled at the attention from the handsome young chap, over 30 years younger than her.

Later during the interview, Niall admitted further that he is a huge fan of her daily morning programme.

'I watch the show every day, it's brilliant,' he added.

Lorraine also flattered the boys - who she proudly admitted to having watched 'grow-up' since rising to fame on X Factor five years ago - by complimenting new track Perfect for having a great title.

'What an amazing title. Because you are!' she said, to which Harry replied, 'Stop that!'

She also dubbed it a 'proper tune', which caused Niall to fall about in giggles.

The singers - who make up One Direction along with absent co-stars Louis Tomlinson and Liam Payne - then chatted about looking forward to time off from touring: as of next spring, the group will be taking a hiatus.

Niall admitted he hasn't been home since Christmas to see his family, due to the pressures of travelling on their On The Road Again world tour, and that he's looking forward to 1D's upcoming gigs in Dublin.

And Harry added to Lorraine: 'We haven't seen you for four years... I haven't watched my favourite show Lorraine in far too long'

To which Niall piped up: 'I have!'

During their appearance on the show in the pre-recorded segment, the guys also chatted about their new record, the group's fifth one and their first since Zayn Malik shockingly quit the band earlier this year.

Lorraine said: 'There's only four of you now, but it's fine, there's only three of Take That, and Take That are doing even better than ever. You're not to worry about it.'

Harry quipped: 'Thank you! We've been worrying for the last six months and now thank God you've come along and reassured us! We needed you six months ago.'

The handsome young gent added: 'We're most proud of this [album] and it's hard because obviously we've said that as they've come along, but we're like really proud of this one, we worked really hard on it.

'I think the difference with this album was that the last couple we knew that we would be touring the years ahead, so we very much wrote the songs with big crowds in mind, we wanted to write anthemic songs, and then this one was cool because we just were really focussed on writing the best songs that we could and wanted to make a nice group of songs that we liked and we hope that everyone else likes them.'

Getting back onto the topic of their love lives - the singers are never out of the news for all their romance antics - the interviewer asked them about the constant speculation.

Niall explained: 'You have to kind of get over it, if you keep reading all those stories it's just going to wreck your head but like you know whatever, you can have friends, we're all allowed to have friends.'

And, when quizzed if they worry a girl wants to be with them for the right reason, Harry replied: 'I think people who would approach someone in that way for the wrong reasons are usually quite transparent. I think it's pretty easy to tell what someone's intentions are.'

Meanwhile, One Direction - who have just unveiled their latest music video for Perfect, which was shot on top of Times Square's Intercontinental Hotel - were recently revealed to have made quite the paypacket over the past year.

According to new reports, Harry, Niall, Liam and Louis are thought to have made around £19k each per day last year.

The band, who were formed from five solo singles on The X Factor, made a profit of £35 million and former fifth member Zayn Malik still gets an equal cut because he only left the group in March.

A source told Dan Wootton: 'Cynics have always described 1D as Simon Cowell's cash cow and, seeing these results, it's not hard to see why. There's no question bosses work the lads hard, but the financial rewards are astonishing.

'The band get very well paid, so they can hardly complain. They are easily Syco's biggest success story.'

The four-piece are due to take a break once their On The Road Again tour is complete in early 2016.

Louis is due to have a baby with former fling Briana Jungwirth, while the other boys are to return home in March for the first time since they competed in the singing competition in 2010.

Zayn has been due to release music ever since he left the band, but is yet to put out a solo effort after falling out with music producer Naughty Boy.
