She's poured her heart into new music in the wake of her split from her husband Gavin Rossdale.

And now Gwen Stefani has shown the fruits of her hard work - with the emotional debut of new track I Used To Love You.

Obviously drawing on her 20 years with Rossdale, it features lyrics such as 'I don't know why I cried, but I think it's because I remembered for the first time since I hates you, that I used to love you.'

The couple, who share three sons, split back in August after 13 years of marriage.

Introducing her song on Saturday at her New York concert Gwen told the crowd: 'I just want to share a song that I wrote recently. This song is really special.'

Singing in front of a screen showing a pre-recorded video of herself reacting to the music, she sang: 'Suitcase, Bandaids, pulling back out the driveway. You can keep all the memories.

'I thought I was the best thing that ever happened to you. I thought you loved me more.'

After jointly announcing their divorce, Gwen and Gavin said in a statement: 'While the two of us have come to the mutual decision that we will no longer be partners in marriage, we remain partners in parenthood and are committed to jointly raising our three sons in a happy and healthy environment.'

The couple are co-parenting nine-year-old Kingston, seven-year-old Zuma, and Apollo, 19 months.

Gwen, 47, lookedin incrdible shape as she performed her one-night only concert sponsored by MasterCard at the Hammerstein Ballroom.

She showcased her youthful figure in a number of sexy and fashionable outfits as she rocked the crowd.

Well-known for her love of  tartan, the singer paired a flouncy leather bustier with ripped red tartan trousers linked by fine black mesh from the hip bones to the bust.

She had her blonde hair tied back into a pony tail that had a dyed blue hair extension that matched her manicure.

She completed the look with a splash of bright red lipstick as she pouted her way through her hits.

The gig is the second show Stefani has performed for MasterCard cardholders as part of the company’s Priceless Surprises partnership with the rock star.

She previously performed at the Orpheum Theatre in Los Angeles the night before the Grammy Awards in February

The chart-topper took a break from her The Voice duties to travel to the East Coast for the concert.

Stefani plans to release her third solo album before the end of the year and has already songs with fellow The Voice judge Pharrell Williams and also with Eminem.

It would be her first album in a decade.
