She's was one of the eight powerful women honoured on the night.

And Kate Winslet looked the picture of sophistication at the ELLE Women in Hollywood Awards, held at the Four Seasons Hotel in Los Angeles on Monday evening, donning a classic black dress with electric blue detailing.

The 40-year-old actress was perfectly composed as she prepared to collect her award alongside the likes of Salma Hayek, Amy Schumer and Dakota Johnson.

Kate made the most of her toned figure her form-fitting dress, featuring a halterneck style and eye-catching blue panels running under the arms.

The Reader Oscar-winner added simple stilettos, a studded clutch bag and simple silver jewellery to complete her look.

The blonde beauty wore her locks pulled back in a classic updo and set off her features with classic, rosy-hued make-up.

Look hot in a halterneck dress by Badgley Mischka like Kate's

Kate Winslet is a women who knows how to work her curves. Here she's showing them off in a custom made Badgley Mischka sporty number.

She was responsible for making Stella McCartney's illusion dresses so popular, and whilst she rarely steps too far away from classic colour combinations or styles, she always gets it just right.

We were blown away by the asymmetric Alexander McQueen gown the A-list actress wore on the red carpet at the weekend, and we're suitably impressed with her efforts at the ELLE Women in Hollywood Awards too.

We've fallen head over heels for the halterneck style and colour block panels on this little number, which help to elongate and streamline everything. When styled with classic court heels, swept up hair and a McQueen studded skull box clutch, this look is classic Kate. Check out other Badgley Mischka dresses at Neiman Marcus to the right.

So with that in mind, check out our edit below to get the look. With options starting from as little as $25 at Asos, you might even be able to justify splashing out on Kate's bag...

Kate took some time off from promoting her new Danny Boyle-directed film Steve Jobs alongside Michael Fassbender to attend the glittering awards ceremony.

The stunning star - who has children Bear Blaze, two, with husband Ned Rocknroll, Joe, 11, with her ex Sam Mendes, and Mia, 15, with Jim Threapleton - has also opened up about her refreshing take on Hollywood's obsession with looking young and eating clean.

She confessed she doesn't believe in 'hippyish stuff' or diet crazes, nor does she think 'funky face things' and cosmetic treatments are the way forward.

Kate told the Daily Mirror: 'I'm not one of these people who believes in strange elimination diets.

'You have to not have strange relationships with food or faddy types of things because how time consuming and boring is that?

'I'd rather be outside kicking a ball around with my son.'
