Nigella Lawson looks youthful as she rocks black skinny jeans and leather jacket at signing for new book

She's known for rocking a figure-hugging dress like nobody else.

But Nigella Lawson swapped her usual feminine style for something altogether more laid back and comfortable as she stepped out to promote her new cookery book in London on Tuesday.

The 55-year-old TV star and domestic goddess still looked lovely, though as she attended a signing at Waterstones in Canary Wharf in head-to-toe black.

She still flaunted her slimline, shapely curves, wearing a pair of black skinny jeans with stylish knee-high suede boots with a heel.

The chef teamed the denim with a simple scoop-necked t-shirt in the shame dark shade, and covered up with a classic leather jacket.

The foodie looked as gorgeous and as youthful as ever, her mid-length brunette locks coiffed into slightly messy waves, and her pretty face needed little attention, just a slick of eyeliner and mascara.

She happily signed copies of her new book, entitled Simply Nigella: Feel Good Food, as well as posing at the promo event.

The new book joins up with a BBC2 programme of the same name which is set to launch next month.

Her website explains: 'Simply Nigella taps into the rhythms of our cooking lives, with recipes that are uncomplicated, relaxed and yet always satisfying.'

Nigella, whose love of good, tasty and sometimes decadent food won her fans across the world, recently revealed her dislike for the on-trend 'clean eating' philosophy.

The chef hit out at the notion of healthy eating as she insists it is a way for people to gain status over others.

Her wholesome approach to homely cooking illustrates why she shares her beliefs - although they will no doubt still cause controversy.

She said during an appearance on BBC Radio 4's Woman's Hour: 'I think behind the notion of "clean eating" is an implication that any other form of eating is dirty or shameful... I don’t like extremes. I think that’s the real truth.

'I think that food should not be used as a way of persecuting oneself and I think really one should look to get pleasure about what’s good rather than either think "Oh no, that’s dirty, bad or sinful" or "eating is virtuous".'

'I also don’t like people thinking their better people themselves for the way they eat. We make choices for ourselves either for our health, delight, according to our income, according to our taste buds, but I don’t think it should ever be a status symbol.”

Good job well done! She was all smiles as she later exited the bookshop after promoting the book, which will go hand-in-hand with a new BBC3 programme with the same name
