How to make Apple Cinnamon Kheer?

“An apple a day, keeps Doctor away”, this is a very old saying. Doctor itself suggests having an apple in the diet. I know each of us surely heard of this and must have conveyed to our kids. But it turns out as no effects. You surely want to apply this old saying upon your kids. In spite of all good things about Apple, normally kids do not like eating this amazing fruit. Then what is the solution? Friends do not worry; I have a recipe, which is full of nutritious element of apple. I called it as Apple Cinnamon Kheer.

The Kheer has always been a favorite sweet dish for my family. When I cooked Kheer with Cinnamon and Apple it comes out as a super duper hit. It becomes a favorite dish among my family members. Now, if Apples are in the fridge, Cinnamon Apple Kheer is surely in their minds.

Let’s arrange the main ingredients for Cinnamon Apple Kheer before cooking it. There are three, four main ingredients Apple, Milk, Cinnamon, Sugar and some Almonds.

These ingredients are enough for two people. Cooking time is approximately 20 minutes.

Ingredients for making Cinnamon Apple Kheer

Apple- 2

Milk- 1 litre

Sugar- 4 Table Spoon

Cinnamon ( Dal chine) powder  – 1 Table Spoon

Cardamom (Elichi) powder- ½ Table Spoon

Almond- 8 finely chopped

Method for making Apple Cinnamon Kheer

Step 1: Peel Apples and finely grate.

Step 2: Heat milk in a pan till it become half of the previous quantity.

Step 3: Now add Grated Apples, sugar, Cinnamon powder and Cardamom powder.

Cook for 10 minutes on simmer gas flame.

Step 4: Add ¾ of chopped Almond and mix well. Turn the gas off.

Apple Cinnamon Kheer is ready. Let it cool at room temperature for 15 minutes and then place in fridge.

You can enjoy it hot or chilled. Totally up to your taste. I prefer having it chilled.

Garnish it will remain Almond and few slices of Apples.

 Few important tips

  • You can add other Dry Fruits also, like Raisins, Cashew Nuts. I like Almonds with Cinnamon- Apples combination.
  • I normally use less Sugar. If you want a little more you can use according your taste.
  • Use full Cream Milk to reduce the cooking time. I used toned Milk.
  • Do not get panic, if some curdle comes when you add Apples. It’s normal and will improve the taste.
  • If you are diabetic, you can avoid Sugar.
  • For health conscious people, honey is the best option.
  • You can give it a flavor of Ghee, by adding Ghee at step number four.

Health aspect of Apple

If you are health conscious then surely Apple should be your favorite fruit. Some of the health benefits of apples are:

1) Studies have shown that eating Apple can lower Blood Cholesterol. .

2) It helps to counter Constipation and Diarrhea.

3) Apple is a rich source of Fiber, it helps control body weight.

4) Apple is source of Vitamin C, which gives resistance against infectious agents.
