'I am thinner now than I have ever been': Wendy Williams reveals she has dropped 50 pounds thanks to vegan diet 

She has been looking a shadow of her former self of late.

And the reason Wendy Williams is now so svelte is all down to her vegan diet.

The 51-year-old presenter revealed the secret to her slimmer frame while chatting on her behind the scenes program The After Show.

Answering questions from her fans she said she had dropped 50 pounds.

Wendy said she had cut meat, refined sugars and dairy from her diet, and she doesn't eat after dark.

Speaking about no longer eating meat she said: 'I can't say that has made me lose weight  because I was already, I had lost 50lbs in three years which I find amazing.

'All the crazy diets I have ever been on, none have been as effective as just: "push back fatso and stop eating so much.'

She added she had also cut out extra sauces, revealing: 'tuna fish doesn't need so much miracle whip and extra cheese.

Wendy said dairy is out, but she is not a big fan of hemp milk and she misses eggs.

Her diet revamp has also made her a fan of juicing - she eats lots of kale, which she mixes with apples when she gets bored of it.

Wendy revealed another key is she doesn't love food as much as she used to.

She eats kale chips instead of potato chips and ditched her favourite San Pellegrino for coconut water saying: 'Now it feels weird to  have bubbles on my tongue.'

Her new diet also consists of a lot of tomatoes, a lot of green peppers a lot of onions.

She also likes to have 'wheat pasta in the red sauce.'

Her tip to those wanting to lose weight is: 'slow and steady is the name of the game, it won't happen overnight.'

She added: 'I don't belive in fad diets and crash diets. I don't believe in diet pills, I don't want my heart to race out of my chest.'

The star confessed she feels her liposuction and tummy tuck, which she had in 1994, gave her a jumpstart to try and revamp her body.

Wendy said she goes to the gym but it isn't just about maintaining her figure: 'I go to the gym because it is not all about me losing weight at this point it is about me fighting heart disease.'

Her plan involves 'a lot of cardio' and she added she also likes pilates, because: 'it involves laying down and relaxing and you stretch a little bit.'

Revealing even her son had noticed her weight loss she said he told her: '"Mommy I don't even know why you go to the gym - you are already skinny, you've got know weight to lose, it is just a waste of your time and your money.' 

During a September episode of The Dr. Oz Show Wendy shared that her actual weight is now around 145 pounds. “It’s a good weight for at 5’11′ with heavier bones,” she said.
