Peter Drury has caused bemusement on social media after repeatedly mistaking Chelsea goalkeeper Asmir Begovic for his injured team-mate Thibaut Courtois.

The BT Sport commentator confused the Bosnian second-choice for Chelsea's No 1 at least twice during the 0-0 draw with Dynamo Kiev on Tuesday night, and was forced to apologise to viewers live on air.

It prompted many viewers to complain on Twitter that they were having to pay money for Drury's glaring inaccuracies.

The former ITV commentator may have to make do with learning Begovic's name for the duration of the Champions League group stage, with Courtois not due back for first-team action until December.

'In terms of my knee, it is good. I am doing my rehabilitation and it is progressing fine,' Courtois said during the recent international break.

'I will be (now) starting the bulk of the work with my physio to come back as soon as possible.

'Of course I still have to be careful not to go too quickly, but all being well, I should be back in December.'
