Work winter whites in a dress like Hilary Swank's

As the Tokyo Film Festival gets underway, the stars are arriving ready to promote their latest movies. Among the throng was Hilary Swank who twirled on the red carpet in her strapless white gown.

Unusually, the actress opted for an old season piece, a Giambattista Valli dress from the couture autumn 2014 collection. While the dress was very girly with its swathes of chiffon material, frills and floral-style appliqué, it suited Hilary and it was nice to see her working something a little more unusual than her favored plain gowns.

The dress worked the winter white trend perfectly and it's something we think everyone should get involved in - the hue is definitely not just for summer ladies so take notes!

The dress is a couture piece so isn't available, but click right to find Giambattista Valli's current ready-to-wear line at Net A Porter. Alternatively, take tips from Hilary and work a white strapless number from our picks below.
