'Did you kill Nicole?' John Travolta morphs into Robert Shapiro as Cuba Gooding Jr. is asked the burning question in new teasers for American Crime Story: The People v. O.J. Simpson

American Crime Story: The People v. O.J. Simpson premieres on FX in February, but the network gave viewers a taste of what's to come in four new teasers.

John Travolta transforms into legal defender Robert Shapiro who asks his client if he did what he's been accused of during a client-counselor conversation in one clip.

Cuba Gooding Jr., as defendant O.J. Simpson, is seen from behind with his head down in a second teaser, pondering an uncertain future - a future that depends on well he responds to the inquisition.

A tense lie detector scene featuring the question: 'Is the person who killed Nicole Brown Simpson in this room?', police arriving to the murder scene and a dramatic exchange of dialogue have also been reveaed.

In the first scenario, Travolta, 61, delivers an impressive performance as Robert Shapiro - one of the first to join Simpson's legal team - with blackened brows, sideburns and combed back hair.

In a carefully controlled voice with minimal facial movements, the actor says: 'Any time that I take on a new criminal case I always ask a client the question. Now I won't be judgmental. So...'

And there, the 15-second clip ends, but that's why it's called a teaser.

Another teaser offers a look at Gooding, 47, in a darkened bedroom sitting on the edge of a bed, naked from the waist up as he faces the fight of his life.

The defendant is then seen from the neck down wearing a blue dress shirt while being strapped into the lie detector apparatus, and an actor saying in voiceover: 'Is the person who killed Nicole Brown Simpson in this room?'

A third clip reveals snippets of dialogue from Travolta as Robert Shapiro: 'You have my word and my word is gold'; Sarah Paulsen as prosecutor Marcia Clark: 'He got away with beating her, he is not gonna get away with killing her.'

There is also Courtney B. Vance as defense lawyer Johnnie Cochran: 'I like to win. This case is a loser,' and Gooding as Simpson: 'Tell Lou and Judy I want them to be the guardians of my children.'

Murphy, who wrote and is producing American Crime Story, recently recalled what it was like recreating the scene when Simpson was chased down a freeway in a white Bronco by the LAPD who wanted to arrest him.

'It was amazing,' he told Deadline.com. 'The interesting thing about this show is everybody knew what was happening outside the Bronco but in this case we tell people what went on in the Bronco.'

'We shut a couple of LA. freeways down for two days and we really show A.C. Cowlings and O.J. Simpson in that car, what they were doing. It was really tough, it was very emotional and very wrenching.'
