French continued, adding that it was fitting that his ex was by the 35-year-old athlete's side as they had history together.

'I feel like once somebody's going through a critical condition, I feel like people should step up to the plate to help,' he said. 'Once upon a time they had a real relationship when they was married, they still married.'

Khloe's legal husband was found unconscous on October 13 at the Love Ranch South - a legal brothel in Pahrump, Nevada.

The reality star remained by his side after he was rushed to the hospital, during which time the rest of her family - including mother Kris Jenner, and sisters Kim and Kourtney Kardashian and Kendall Jenner, visited to support her and Lamar.

Lamar was finally taken off of a ventilator on Friday night, after a drink and drug-fueled binge caused the star to collapse, later entering a three-day coma.

On Monday, he was airlifted from Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, with Khloe thought to have traveled alongside him in the helicopter.

The Keeping Up with the Kardashians star took to her website, www.khloewithak.com, on Tuesday to share a message as Lamar finally showed signs of improvement.

'The past week has been incredibly difficult. I'm so thankful for family, friends and fans, who have sent nothing but prayers and well wishes to Lamar.'

'I also want to take a moment to thank everyone at Sunrise Hospital, including the amazing doctors and nurses for their kindness and diligent work.' And she said of Odom's condition: 'Incredible strides have been made.'

Khloe made it clear she was touched by the 'outpouring of love,' saying that without the 'strength' the support gave her 'it would have been difficult to endure.'

And, signing off, the 31-year-old wrote: 'Thank you for your continued support. God is great!!!'

Lamar is making progress after arriving at the Los Angeles hospital, according to a statement released by his aunt's publicist.

Alvina Alston, who has been speaking publicly for Lamar's aunt JaNean Mercer, said of the basketball player's recovery: 'He continues to make miraculous progress, taking a few steps in Los Angeles.'

Despite this good news, Lamar is still facing many challenges, with E! News reporting that he has 'months' of treatment ahead of him, and noting it is still unclear whether he will fully recover.
