Fancy seeing U2 here! Leading lady Saoirse Ronan bumps into Bono and wife Ali Hewson as they attend Brooklyn premiere

Saoirse Ronan was in on her Irish luck on Thursday night as U2 star Bono and wife Ali Hewson showed up at her Dublin premiere of Brooklyn.

The leading lady gave a hug and a kiss to the rock and roll couple, who were enjoying a dedicated date night at the Savoy Cinema on O’Connell Street.

She showed them up by paying tribute to her native in green, while 55-year-old Bono and Ali, 54, played it safe in low-key black.

Bono parred down his fading blonde dyed 'do with his subtle black ensemble and his signature blue shades.

His other half kept her date night attire similarly simple, pairing boots with a long coat and matching jeans.

Leading lady Saoirse, meanwhile, opted to walk the red carpet in peacock feather dress that skimmed the floor in length.

She twisted her short platinum tresses into a bun at the back, with loose curls left around her nape and unpolished.

Saoirse seemed to have a close connection with Ali and Bono and gave them warm embraces on arrival.

She was no doubt grateful of the support, since she takes such a central role in the Nick Hornby screenplay adaptation of author and director John Crowley's book.

Saoirse portrays Eilis Lacey, a woman torn between two cities Dublin and New York and is equally divided at her heart between the two men who reside within them.

Set in the 1950s, the film also stars Domhnall Gleeson, from About Time, and Emory Cohen, who's previously starred in The Place Beyond The Pines.

Actress Saoirse, though emerging from her child star image, is still better remember for playing a young version of Keira Knightley's character Briony Tallis in Atonement at aged 13.

She went on to take on the chilling film adaptation of The Lovely Bones in 2009, originally written by Alice Sebold.
