As one of the world's most famous couples, Beyoncé and Jay Z's star presence makes them impossible to miss.

But it was the pair's unusual outfits that turned heads when they were spotted in New York City on Wednesday evening after watching the Hamilton musical.

Beyoncé tried out the velvet trend in a tight and plunging orange pantsuit, showing some cleavage and a sliver of her stomach with nothing but a lacy black bra underneath.

Going for a retro feel, the 34-year-old also sported a pair of wine-coloured platform peep-toe sandals, complete with matching pedicure.

Beyoncé's long golden locks were curled and swept into a high ponytail.

The superstar singer picked dewy make-up, and wore a shade of bright pink lipstick which clashed with her striking suit.

Rocking a retro look ahead of a date night to a Broadway musical with husband Jay Z, Beyoncé looked autumn ready in this orange get up this week.

The vintage look velvet trouser suit - complete with hipster bell bottom trousers and a single button blazer in a rich burnt orange color - was reminiscent of the trouser suits of the 80's and with luxe fabrics such as velvet and suede having a bit of a revival, we're kind of in love with this unusual style.

Beyonce's is from the designer Barbara Bui's Pre-Fall collection and although the orange isn't currently available you can buy it in pick using the link to the right.

Meanwhile Jay Z's look was also a retro one - the rapper was clad in a camouflage jacket over a black T-shirt, matching jeans and white trainers.

The couple appeared to have had a great time watching the musical on Broadway.

After the show, they went backstage to meet with the cast - who couldn't contain their excitement while chatting to their famous guests.

Beyoncé also wore a cleavage-baring outfit the previous evening, to attend the TIDAL X: 1020 Amplified by HTC event.

The pop star was caught on camera smiling while telling her assistant to 'stop' fussing over her eye-popping dress.

After being scolded by Beyoncé, the assistant immediately moved away and the star continued posing while photographers shouted 'Queen'.

The Drunk In Love hit-maker also made a surprise appearance on stage during the event.

Beyoncé joined pal Nicki Minaj halfway through her performance to sing their duet Feeling Myself, the first time they've performed the racy track together live.

The star had changed out of her plunging gown and into an unusual pink button-down leotard wit long sleeves.

The appearance came shortly after the Destiny's Child alum's father Mathew Knowles claimed she is older than 34 - the age she claims to be.

Mathew told The Breakfast Club radio show that his daughter is really the same age as fellow pop star Pink, who is 36.

He also said Beyoncé is the same age as R&B singer Usher, who was born in October 1978.
