We’re used to seeing her in wacky looks, but Kesha showed her natural side in Los Angeles on Wednesday.

The 28-year-old went make-up free for an exercise session with her boyfriend Brad Ashenfelter, and looked flushed after working up a sweat.

While she is known for her bubblegum pop music, Kesha appears to be a heavy metal fan and was clad in a Metallica top.

She wrapped an arm around her other half, who sported a Motorhead T-shirt.

Although it was a considerably toned down look for the singer, she added a bright pop of colour in the form of hot pink tie-dye leggings.

Kesha also wore pale pink trainers, and – having ditched the rainbow tresses – tied her long blonde hair into a ponytail.

The singer – who showed her acting chops in an episode of Jane The Virgin earlier this week – has just returned to Los Angeles from a trip to Cannes, and it’s clear her writer boyfriend is very happy to have her home.

Kesha and Brad were first linked in April 2014, a month after she left rehab after being treated for eating disorders.

And the star gushed about their relationship a couple of months later, telling Ryan Seacrest on his KIIS FM radio show: 'He's really, a really sweet human being. I’m very happy to have him in my life…I’m really happy with my beard.

'I do [like dirty boys], not like physically covered in dirt, but I just like them to be beardy [with] long hair and look like a little homeless. I like guys who look like they don’t groom themselves. I'm not into guys who are very high-maintenance. I don’t want them to take longer to get ready than me.'

While Kesha’s relationship is clearly going from strength-to-strength, she is still embroiled in a bitter legal battle with music producer Dr. Luke.

Kesha filed a sexual assault civil suit against the super producer in Los Angeles last October alleging he had drugged and raped her and threatened to take away her publishing rights.

Last month, it emerged that Kesha's lawyers had asked a judge in New York to issue a temporary injunction that would allow her to reignite her music career even as the legal battle continues.

According to the New York Daily News, the pop star’s legal team are arguing that she should not be penalised professionally as the lawsuit drags on, stating that 'unless the court issues this injunction, Kesha will suffer irreparable harm, plummeting her career past the point of no return.'

Dr. Luke, real name Luke Gottwald, has denied the allegations and has not been charged with any crime.

He has also lodged his own defamation lawsuit in New York, saying the singer had fabricated the supposed incidents in an extortion scheme to get out of an exclusive recording contract.
