Khloe Kardashian has called off divorce proceedings with Lamar Odom, and it has now been reported that her change of heart was down to him promising to never take drugs again.

According to TMZ, the former NBA star - who was hospitalised last week after a four-day drugs binge at a brothel in Nevada - has convinced his estranged wife that the experience has changed him indefinitely.

Sources told the site that he said to Khloe, who has been by his bedside throughout the ordeal: 'I am done with drugs.'

He is also believed to have expressed his gratitude, thanking her 'profusely' for flying out to be with him and nurse him back to health after he fell into a life-threatening coma.

Khloe's lawyer, Laura Wasser, appeared before a Los Angeles judge on Wednesday to withdraw the papers, a request which was approved.

She had initially filed for divorce in December 2013 after four years of marriage, citing irreconcilable differences.

And, although the couple went through divorce proceedings in July this year, the papers were not yet officially signed off due to a backlog of papers in the city of Los Angeles, meaning the divorce wasn't finalised.

Love life drama: Khloe, 31 - pictured just days before Lamar went to hospital - has been by his side for the past week

The one-page document was submitted without prejudice, meaning the divorce papers can be refiled at a later date, according to multiple reports.

The couple met, fell in love and married after a whirlwind month together back in 2009, and their hasty marriage and relationship was witnessed by fans on Keeping Up With The Kardashians.

However, Khloe had recently sparked a new romance with NBA star James Harden, but reports have now suggested she has put that on hold while she commits herself to her ex.

It's thought that, when awaking from a coma, he told Khloe he still loves her.

Lamar, 35, is currently undergoing treatment in Los Angeles after showing steady signs of improvement after being rushed to hospital last week in Nevada.

Odom was hospitalised and placed on a life-supporting ventilator last Tuesday, when he was discovered unconscious at the famed Love Ranch brothel outside Las Vegas after reportedly consuming a cocktail of drugs and alcohol during a four-day binge.

Khloe, 31, rushed out to be with him, and she has since remained with him as he has gone from Las Vegas back to LA, her devotion to him unwavering.

This, along with the latest divorce developments, have suggested there may be a future for the former couple as yet, in light of the near-fatal incident.

She had initially been joined by other members of her famous family, including mother Kris Jenner and sister Kim Kardashian.

But they have now returned to normal life and the family - apart from Khloe - got together to celebrate Kim's 35th birthday in LA on Wednesday, in a surprise celebration thrown by her husband Kanye West.

Meanwhile, although Lamar was moved this week from Nevada to Los Angeles to continue his recovery after waking from a coma, it has since been claimed that he's actually not that much better.

'Lamar isn't doing that well,' a source told Us Weekly.

'He can't stand up by himself. (Khloe) is still very worried about him and uncomfortable with leaving.'

A source told People: 'Lamar still can't stand up alone. He has to be helped to a chair right by his bed. He is receiving antibiotics for a respiratory infection. He is also still receiving dialysis.'

Khloe has been at Lamar's bedside since the incident, and on Tuesday issued a statement thanking medical workers and well-wishers for their care and support.

'The past week has been incredibly difficult,' she wrote.

'I also want to take a moment to thank everyone at Sunrise Hospital, including the amazing doctors and nurses for their kindness and diligent work.

Back to normal: Kim Kardashian returned to her normal life and was seen celebrating her 35th birthday on Wednesday with husband Kanye West and the rest of her family, while Khloe remained with Lamar in hospital

'Under their amazing care, incredible strides have been made... Thank you for your continued support. God is great!!!'

Elsewhere, Khloe is reportedly being sued by a dog owner who claims that their pooch will 'never be the same again' after she threw a huge fireworks display for her now ex-boyfriend James Harden's birthday party this summer.

According to TMZ, Marina del Rey resident James Ferguson has filed the lawsuit in a small claims court, stating that the firework explosions created 'a disturbance that harmed our family and pet'.

He is supposedly suing the Kardashian for $7,500.

At the time Khloe's party, thrown on a boat nearby to Marina del Rey, left residents fuming over the noise.
