Just weeks ago, Emily Blunt sensationally made cryptic comments regarding rumours of cheating, surrounding the end of her relationship with Michael Bublé.

Yet the Canadian singer, who is now married to actress Luisana Lopilato, has blasted any suggestion that infidelity played a part in the end of their three-year love affair.

The 40-year-old hitmaker insisted their were no other parties involved in the breakdown of his relationship with the English actress, who he dated from 2005 to 2008.

Michael spoke to Entertainment Tonight about the comments made by Emily in a chat with shock jock Howard Stern earlier this month.

When asked about rumours of cheating in their relationship, The Devil Wears Prada star, who is now married to fellow actor John Krasinski, said: 'I don't know. It's complicated. I never want to talk about it. I can’t do it.'

Emily's comments shocked many as people saw her response as an admittance of her former partner's infidelity, although Michael has now clearly stated: 'It didn't end because of cheating.'

The Haven't Met You Yet singer elaborated: 'It ended because we weren't right for each other, and we are now exactly where we're supposed to be in our lives.

'Emily is a beautiful and loving person, and I'm grateful for the time I had with her, for the relationship.

'Without it, I wouldn't have had a chance to fall in love with myself enough to be with a woman like my wife.'

The duo met at Australia's Logie Awards in 2005 and their romance blossomed and they later shared a home in Michael's native Canada before breaking up in 2008.

Emily married The Office star John in 2010 and they share 19-month-old daughter Hazel together.

While Michael is now married to Argentine actress Luisana and they have a two-year-old son together Noah and are currently expecting their second child.

In the same interview, Michael revealed his and Luisana's new arrival is set to be a boy.

He joked during the chat that his better half has already vetoed the names Thor and Spider-Man for son number two.

The couple announced their family is expanding via Facebook in July.

They shared a sweet video that featured a soundtrack of Britney Spears' song Oops I Did It Again and showing Noah pointing at the Argentine model and actress' stomach.
