TV legend Marty Ingels has died at age 79 after suffering massive stroke

Marty Ingels, an actor and agent who was married to Shirley Jones for 38 years, has died after suffering a massive stroke.

The Partridge Family star announced the news of her 79-year-old's husband's passing on Wednesday, according to Variety.

'He often drove me crazy but there’s not a day I won’t miss him and love him to my core,' said Jones, 81.

Ingels found fame in the 1960s as a comic actor known for his zany style and rapid-fire, raspy-voiced delivery, Variety reported.

He starred opposite John Astin in the 1962 ABC comedy I’m Dickens, He’s Fenster which became a cult favorite.

The Brooklyn-born actor also made guest appearances on shows such as The Dick Van Dyke Show, Bewitched and Pete and Gladys.

His movie credits include The Horizontal Lieutenant, Wild and Wonderful, The Busy Body, A Guide for the Married Man and If It’s Tuesday, This Must Be Belgium.

Ingels met Jones in 1974, the year she divorced first husband Jack Cassidy, the father of David Cassidy, with whom she had three sons Shaun, Patrick and Ryan.

After falling for each other at a party thrown by Little House On The Prairie star Michael Landon, they married in 1977.

The pair published the autobiography Shirley & Marty: An Unlikely Love Story in 1990.

Ingels passed away at the Tarzana Medical Center in Tarzana, a suburb of Los Angeles.
