Her sister Kendall was walking the runway, but Kylie Jenner managed to steal some attention for herself on the sidelines.

The 18-year-old reality star stood out among the glamorous crowd as she attended the Balmain and H&M fashion show in New York City on Tuesday.

Kylie wore one of the designer's creations - a black and heavily gold-embroidered mini-dress with long sleeves and a blue-banded waistline, and matched with thigh-high black boots.

The youngest of the Kardashian-Jenner clan carried herself with poise while stepping to the venue in her thigh-skimming black suede boots.

Thanks to the dress' short hem, a glimpse of leg was seen now and then.

Kylie's new blunt-cut hair brushed her shoulders and made her expertly made-up face even more dramatic.

She looked little like the cute doe-eyed teen introduced to television audiences on Keeping Up With The Kardashians.

Kylie Jenner shows us how amazing the Balmain x H&M collection is going to be when she rocks this early released piece. This highstreet and high fashion collaboration is one of the most anticipated events this fall.

The Californian born starlet made sure to turn heads in a sparkly embellished dress from Balmain's collaboration with H&M. They included Alessandra Ambrosio, Gigi and Bella Hadid and Kendall, of course.

Kendall modelled one outfit similar in detail to the dress worn by Kylie, who watched with interest as her sibling sauntered by.

Meanwhile, earlier on at the start of the event, Kendall and best pal Gigi put on a united front, holding hands while showing off their lean physiques in edgy monochrome ensembles.

The Estee Lauder brand ambassador also sported simple open-toe ankle-strap stilettos.

Her hair was styled in voluminous waves and flowing past her shoulder, as she wore a pink palette of make-up.

And Gigi was was clad in a long sheer shirt, military-inspired leather bomber, and skinnies.

The Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue babe pampered herself with a soft yet smoky make-up look.

The twosome, along with their famous siblings Kylie and Bella, are both faces of the French couture fashion house.

Balmain released an eye-catching ad with the foursome, in addition to sisters Joan and Erika Smalls, in July.

But that was merely the first, as Yahoo Style recently shared a behind-the-scenes video of Kendall and French designer Olivier Rousteing working on the stunning campaign – while still finding some time to goof around for the cameras.

The site also spoke to the the 30-year-old designer, who didn't hold back when it came to gushing about his model muse.

'Kendall had a lot of fun,' Olivier said. 'It was a new experience for her. We had the best time. It was new for both of us. But more importantly, the campaign has to reflect the Balmain Army and for me, she is the most important.

The actual ad, which spotlights the campaign's 'sci-fi metro' theme,' has yet to be released, but fans were offered an exciting peek in the Johan Sandberg and Henrik Timonen-directed clip.

Kendall previously helped debut Olivier Rousteing's luxurious Balmain x H&M collection by wearing one of his designs to the Billboard Awards in May.

The Balmain x H&M collection will debut in stores on November 5.

Meanwhile, Tuesday's show also saw Kendall and Gigi take on the runway, along with Bella and Victoria's Secret Angel Alessandra Ambrosio.

That afternoon, Kylie was seen visiting her friend Hailey Baldwin on the set of her Express photoshoot in New York City.

The two girls participated in an impromptu photo session of their own in Baldwin's dressing room with Hailey posting the picture of them looking nonchalant to her Instagram account.

Even earlier, Kylie's busy day included shopping and lunch with sister Kendall at Smile Cafe.

The Jenner siblings arrived into The Big Apple on Monday evening after a trip to Las Vegas to visit brother-in-law Lamar Odom in hospital.

Kylie reactivated www.thekyliejenner.com on Monday after family members halted new updates in the wake of Lamar's collapse and coma.

After the former NBA star was transferred from Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas to Cedars-Sinai in Los Angeles, apparently with the worst behind him, estranged wife Khloe broke her silence.

In a statement on her app and website www.khloewithak.com, she wrote: 'The past week has been incredibly difficult.

'I'm so thankful for family, friends and fans, who have sent nothing but prayers and well wishes to Lamar... incredible strides have been made,' she added, referring to Lamar's condition.
