Taylor Swift goes back to her country roots at North Carolina 1989 show as she's joined by guest Miranda Lambert to perform Little Red Wagon

Taylor Swift officially changed over from country to pop on her wildly successful most recent album 1989.

But on Wednesday, while touring for 1989 in Greensboro, North Carolina, the 25-year-old went back to her country roots with a surprise guest.

To the audience's delight, Taylor brought country star Miranda Lambert onstage to perform her hit single Little Red Wagon.

Taylor frequently surprises her audiences, and has shown off her impressive - and extensive - list of friends while touring for 1989.

So it was no surprise when she announced a guest on Wednesday, though the audience did go wild for the Platinum performer.

She sported a shimmery, fringed 1989 crop top along with a pair of skintight, studded black jeans as she began the performance on a 'throne of men,' as Taylor described it.

Once Miranda hit the chorus, Taylor happily chimed in, and the two looked fierce as they showed off their attitude while shimmying and shaking along to the popular song.

Taylor later took to her social media accounts to share a collection of videos and photos from the night's performance.

'YOU CAN'T RIDE IN MY LITTLE RED WAGON @mirandalambert,' the blonde beauty excitedly wrote alongside the first Instagram video clip, following it up with simply: 'Oooooh Ahhhhhhh.'

The Blank Space hitmaker also shared a striking black and white photo of her strutting alongside Miranda as she sang, captioning it with lyrics from the song.

'And you're just trying to slow this rolling stone but I'm onto you babe....' she wrote beside the photo, in which she could be seen dramatically pointing at the camera.

Miranda - who recently split from fellow country star Blake Shelton - quickly responded to Taylor, gushing: '@taylorswift13 .... You are a bad a**! Amazing show! #inspired.'

The two had been friendly before the appearance, with Miranda even recording a video of her 'squad' lip-syncing to Taylor's award-winning single Bad Blood.

'We challenge @taylorswift to a #glamjam #acmhonors #nashville #badblood @tiffanygiffordstyle @moanilee @johnnylavoy @harps226 #bringit,' Miranda captioned the video, in which she can be seen using a curling iron as a microphone while singing Bad Blood.

Miranda just wrapped up her Roadside Bars & Pink Guitars Tour, but Taylor continues on with her 1989 Tour, next heading to Georgia on Saturday.
