They may be regarded as some of the world's most beautiful women - but it takes a lot of work to look as good as Kendall Jenner, Gigi Hadid and Karlie Kloss.

As these behind-the-scenes snaps from the Balmain X H&M fashion show attest, even the world's best supermodels need a little helping hand when it comes to getting catwalk-ready.

Balmain's creative director, Olivier Rousteing, has a knack for calling on the most in-demand girls to walk in his show, adding the likes of Jourdan Dunn, Alessandra Ambrosio and Bella Hadid to his roster.

In the candid snaps, Victoria's Secret Angel Alessandra Ambrosio can be seen getting a few last-minute touch-ups and Brit model Jourdan Dunn has her hair styled to perfection.

The Balmain x H&M collection, which lands in-stores and online on November 5, made its global runway debut in front of a celebrity filled audience.

Kylie Jenner, Lewis Hamilton, Diane Kruger, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Ellie Goulding and Alexa Chung were among the guests to get an exclusive look at the glamorous, powerful and richly detailed collection designed by Olivier Rousteing.

After an exclusive preview of the campaign music video starring Kendall Jenner, dance crews hyped up the crowd for a runway show featuring models such as Gigi and Bella Hadid, Jourdan Dunn, Alessandra Ambrosio, Karlie Kloss and Joan Smalls.

After the fashion show, The Backstreet Boys surprised the crowd with an exclusive live performance hyping up the 90s vibe.

Olivier said: 'Tonight has been a dream come true for me. The energy and vibe are unbelievable, and to have The Backstreet Boys perform just for Balmain x H&M was incredible.

'It is an honour for me to be collaborating with H&M, and tonight's launch is something that I will never forget.'

Earlier in the evening, Kendall caused a similar stir as she arrived to the Balmain X H&M fashion show at 23 Wall Street with BFF Gigi Hadid.

The model friends proved their loyalty to one another as they clasped hands while posing in black ensembles for the cameras.

Kendall and 20-year-old Gigi showed their playful side as well by puckering up while the cameras clicked away.

The beautiful twosome, along with their siblings Kylie Jenner and Bella Hadid, are both faces of the French couture fashion house.

In July, Balmain released a dazzling ad featuring the foursome, as well as sisters Joan and Erika Smalls.

It was manic scenes backstage at the Balmain x H&M show

It's undoubtedly the most highly-anticipated collection of the year and after much hype, the Balmain x H&M lookbook was unveiled in all its glory last week.

Despite not being available to buy until November 5, Balmain's creative director, Olivier Rousteing, and the high street giant whet shopper's appetites with the new images.

As the lookbook attests, it's full of the kind of glitzy, embellished and tailored designs the Hollywood brat pack have made their signature.

Many of the pieces are made with luxurious satin and come embellished with his signature pearl, rope and gold embroidery.

The pieces, which are reimaginings of his red carpet classics for fans on a budget, are structured and tailored to enhance the feminine form - something that makes him so popular among young Hollywood.

It was hardly a surprise that Kendall Jenner opened the Balmain x H&M show when her family are so close with Creative Director Olivier Rousteing, but it didn't make sister Kylie any less proud who sat front row to watch the new collection unfold.

The pieces in the collection are all looking fab, with heavily embellished dresses and tops being order of the day and leathers and blazers that are copying the real deal point for point, not to mention this cute sheer number Kendall is modelling here.

The top is one that's not going to set us back quite as much as some of the other pieces at just $129 and anything Balmain is surely worth the investment?
