'Six days after the C-section... Lets see if I can bounce back': Glory Johnson shows off her body and says she craves a workout after giving birth to tiny premature twin daughters who weighed just 1lb 7oz

  • Johnson, 25, gave birth to her twin daughters last Monday after 24 weeks
  • WNBA star told her Instagram followers she is 'craving a good workout'
  • She showed off her stomach in picture taken six days after twins' births
  • But she faced backlash from people who said her image was 'disgraceful' and she should be focusing on her daughters - not on her 'waist line'
  • She also posted image of babies' hands and feet in a hospital incubator
  • Birth came five months after athlete's marriage to Brittney Griner ended
  • Griner, also 25, claimed in June that she was unaware that Johnson had got IVF treatment - something Johnson said was not true at the time

Six days after giving birth to twins, many new mothers are struggling with even the most basic tasks.

But Glory Johnson was already focusing her mind on reclaiming her pre-baby shape.

Taking to Instagram yesterday, the 25-year-old WNBA star revealed she craved a workout - and posted an image of her stomach after giving birth to her daughters at only 24 weeks.

She captioned the photo, which was taken last Sunday following the C-section delivery of Ava Simone and Solei Diem last Monday: '6 Days After the C-Section... Lets see if I can Bounce Back.'

She then posted a series of hashtags, writing: '#CantLiftForSixWeeks #FingersCrossed #CravingAGoodWorkout #TwoWeekUpdate #GLOJOsWorkoutPlan Who's with me?'

Many users praised Johnson - who gave birth to her daughters 'a little earlier than expected' just five months after her 28-day marriage to Brittney Griner ended - for her 'beautiful' body.

However, others were less positive.

One Instagram user told the star: 'Really? You dare to show your tummy with "hoping to bounce back soon" without caring one let alone two in your womb full term after a premature birth???

'That pic is disgraceful! Your focus should be on your daughters not your waist line.'

Another said: 'Huge fan. But I’m more worried about your sweet girls.'

But despite the criticism, Johnson, who appeared to have deleted a number of negative comments, later posted another photo on the social networking site - this time, of her baby girls.

Ava Simone and Solei Diem - who were conceived via IVF - each weighed only 1lb 7oz when they were born on October 12, just days after Johnson went into hospital with contractions.

In Instagram and Twitter posts about their births, their mother wrote: 'Born a little earlier than expected, I have no worries because these babies are fighters just like I am,' adding: 'We all know God makes NO mistakes and by his Grace, everything will work out for the greater good.'

Johnson's revelation that she gave birth a little over 24 weeks into her pregnancy means that she would have undergone IVF on the same week that she and Griner - a fellow WNBA player whom she married in May - were arrested for a domestic violence incident at their Arizona home.

Johnson announced in June that she was expecting twins.

On June 29, she said she was nine weeks along in her pregnancy.

She said she had been impregnated using her egg and a donor's sperm.

The athlete married Griner in May, and the Phoenix Mercury center filed for an annulment after Johnson announced she was pregnant.

The annulment was denied and they are still married according to public court documents. They are going through private mediation to mutually resolve their 28-day marriage.

Johnson sat out this past WNBA season while pregnant. She still has a seven-game suspension to serve once she returns to the league for her domestic violence arrest.

According to annulment documents obtained by TMZ , Griner found out after they had tied the knot that Johnson had been texting an ex-boyfriend throughout their engagement.

Griner said she would have never followed through on the marriage had she known at the time.

The 25 year old also says in the documents that she later found out that Johnson was still sleeping with a man - who may or may not be the ex-boyfriend - when they started dating last summer.

Griner said she was completely unaware Johnson was pregnant at the time.

Johnson has said this is not true.

In a tearful interview in June, Griner said that she felt pressured into getting married and was having negative thoughts about the union leading up to the big day.

But Johnson has challenged Griner's version of events saying that her newlywed wife's change of heart was sudden and surprising.

'I am truly really saddened by the recent turn of events and was not expecting to have our marriage end so abruptly,' Johnson said at the time, adding that she wants to address 'inaccurate statements' about their marriage and her pregnancy.

'At no stage was Brittney pressured to undertake the fertility process.

'In fact, throughout the entire process, Brittney was a willing participant, consenting and signing all the necessary documents that needed to be signed in order to move forward with the treatments.

'In addition, while we may have both had our reservations, we both willfully and joyfully walked down the aisle together and decided to get married.'

Griner and Johnson were married just three weeks after they were both arrested on domestic violence charges following a fight at their home in suburban Phoenix.

Both players were suspended seven games after their arrests and Griner agreed to undergo 26 weeks of domestic violence counseling as part of a plea agreement.

Johnson has pleaded not guilty to the charges.

In the aftermath of the fight, both players apologized and said they worked out their differences - but Griner said she should have given herself more time before they walked down the aisle.

'With everything going on and counseling and classes, it just wasn't the right way to start off a marriage,' said Griner.

'It wasn't the right way to start off a unity like that. I wanted to take time to get myself right and - shouldn't have done it.'

She said they had agreed to go their separate ways.
