In the beautifully photographed portrait, Carrie is a child and looks darling in a light pink dress.

Mom Debbie has on a striped pale top and her hair and makeup is done up in a very glamorous 1950s style.

'Happy Birthday to my beautiful daughter,' Reynolds wrote.

On Monday Carrie made her debut in the Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens trailer.

She was seen only for a brief moment getting a hug from beau Hana Solo, played by Harrison Ford.

The beauty appeared scared as the rebels come under siege from the Empire again, 30 years after the events of The Return Of The Jedi.

Ford was already in the very first trailer that was presented earlier this year by director JJ Abrams.

Debbie had a massive Hollywood career that included a number of starring roles in blockbusters such as 1957's Tammy And The Bachelor, 1964's The Unsinkable Molly Brown and 1967's Divorce American Style.

She was also at the center of one of the biggest scandals of the 1960s when her pal Elizabeth Taylor stole her husband Eddie Fisher, who was Carrie's father.

Carrie started acting at a young age.

In 1977 Star Wars made her a massive icon and she went on to appear in two more of the films in the franchise.

She also had parts in The Blues Brothers, Under The Rainbow, Hannah And Her Sisters and Hollywood Vice Squad.

Fisher launched a writing career when she penned Postcards Form The Edge, which detailed her drug spiral and subsequent stints in rehab. The book was turned into a movie starring Meryl Streep.
