Champions League round-up: Lukas Podolski on target as Galatasaray win, while Wolfsburg and Malmo also taste victory

Lukas Podolski scores his first Champions League goal of the season as Galatasaray come from behind to defeat Benfica in Group C to keep their European hopes alive.

Nicolas Gaitan had given the Portuguese side a second minute lead after drifting into the penalty area and lifting the ball past Fernando Muslera. 

Selcuk Inan struck a 19th minute penalty, given after Andre Almedia's handball in the area, before Podolski raced onto a through ball down the right hand side of the pitch, taking it into the penalty area before poking into the far bottom corner with the outside of his right boot.

In Group B, Manchester United's group, Wolfsburg saw off PSV Eindhoven to go top of Group B.

The Bundesliga outfit took the lead just after half-time through Bas Dost before Max Kruse doubled their advantage 11 minutes later. 

The Dutch champions now find themselves bottom of the group after CSKA Moscow claimed a point at home to Manchester United.

A first-half goal from captain Markus Rosenberg gave Malmo a 1-0 win over Shakhtar Donetsk on Wednesday and their first points in Group A.

Rosenberg collected a pass from Pa Konate and fired home in the 17th minute for Malmo's first goal of the group stage, following two consecutive 2-0 defeats to Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid.

The Swedish side move into third, four points behind the giants of the group PSG and Real, who drew 0-0 at the Parc des Princes.
