Barely 24 hours after breaking Real Madrid's goal scoring record, Cristiano Ronaldo was busy in the gym recovering ahead of a Champions League clash with Paris Saint Germain on Wednesday. 

The Portuguese star finally broke club legend Raul's record in the 3-0 win over Levante as he struck his 324th goal for the Spanish giants. 

Posting a photo on Instagram on Sunday alongside the caption 'Recovery', the former Manchester United star could be seen working hard on a bike machine while his son Cristiano Jr watched on in the background.

Ronaldo was not the only Real Madrid star forward to be getting in the recovery work on the weekend. 

His Welsh team-mate Gareth Bale tweeted a photo of himself in the pool, saying 'Working hard on Sunday to be ready for PSG!'

Bale, fresh from leading Wales' charge to Euro 2016 qualification during the international break, started on Saturday but was withdrawn at half-time.

The 3-0 victory over Levante kept Los Blancos top of La Liga under new manager Rafa Benitez. 

Ronaldo was presented with last season's Golden Shoe prior to kick-off at the Bernabeu, after finishing as the top goal scorer throughout European football in 2014-15.
