Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho says he is happy to be criticised for his team's performances but insists he will no longer give 'good headlines' after a difficult week.

A video emerged this week of Mourinho reacting to a youngster who was filming him on the London streets, while he also slammed the referee of his match against Dynamo Kiev as 'weak' and 'naive'.

At the press conference ahead of Chelsea's trip to West Ham on Saturday, Mourinho says he is treated with no respect by the media and has vowed to stay out of the news.

'You don't get from me good and funny headlines,' Mourinho said at the Cobham training ground.

'I'm going to treat your bosses the same way they treat me: no respect, no respect. I'm not talking about football. In football I'm ready to be criticised, even the stupid ones.

'Private life, stupid things you bring to light, I don't like it. So we go to a different level of professional relations.'

Chelsea have leapt to the defence of their boss following a video of the Portuguese lashing out at a youngster.

The Blues insist the footage of Mourinho walking the streets of west London last week was 'overly intrusive'.

Chelsea head of communications Steve Atkins told journalists on Friday: 'We noticed two recent stories concerning Jose being filmed on mobile phones.

'While Jose understands the laws pertaining to filming in public, the two teenagers in question followed him from his home for well over 20 minutes and constantly interrupted private phone calls, which he and the club believe goes beyond the boundaries of reasonable behaviour.

'Jose has always spoken warmly about the public reception he receives in London, but Jose and the club consider the two incidents to be overly intrusive. We also note the allegation of intimidation in those stories, which Jose strongly refutes and his legal representatives will continue to monitor closely.'

The teenage fan who appeared to be shoved by Mourinho while trying to take a video, insisted he will remain a supporter of the Blues but he has lost all respect for the man he idolised.

Otto Nahmmacher, 14, claims the Stamford Bridge boss grabbed his arm and pushed him.

The under-pressure Blues boss, who met the South African rugby team this week with his squad, can be seen on video walking along a London street, speaking on his own mobile phone.

Mourinho then spots that he is being filmed by the schoolboy, before walking past the child. The picture shakes wildly as Mourinho, 52, apparently shoves Nahmmacher, who loses control of his camera.

Earlier this week Nahmmacher said: 'All that happened was I saw him and wheeled my bike on to the street.

'I was trying to take a selfie with him from a distance. He approached me and grabbed my arm and pushed me.

'It hurt at the time but it's alright now, I've not got any bruises. I was really shocked, I didn't know what to do. I cycled back as he walked off normally like nothing happened.

'I wasn't sure if I should be angry or upset. But I was upset, I have been supporting Chelsea for all my life.

'I'm a big fan and I was really happy when he came back. That's why I was so excited when I saw him.

'I still have a lot of respect for Chelsea but I don't have a lot of respect for him now.'

Mourinho meanwhile praised Saturday's opponents at West Ham but insisted his team are improving ahead of the match.

'Look at the table. It's easy. See where they are. See where we are,' he added.

'We are not afraid to lose matches in the Premier League. The victory against Aston Villa was a good result, the draw in Dynamo was a good result.

'(Nemanja) Matic went from being on the bench against Aston Villa, played the second half positively, to being the man of the match for UEFA three days later.

'So just one example. Other players also improved in their performances. A bit better.'

MOURINHO: THE 'SPECIAL ONE' WITH AN APPETITE FOR CONTROVERSY

Jose Mourinho, the self-styled 'Special One', is one of the most successful managers in world football and a hero at Chelsea.

But the charismatic Portuguese has never strayed too far from controversy throughout his time at Stamford Bridge and beyond.

Mourinho has been at the centre of many storms, whipping his opponents into a frenzy with his bending of the rules, and picking fights with seemingly anyone who dares to stand in his way.

These are some of Mourinho's most controversial moments in football:

* In 2005 he got round a stadium ban, imposed for criticising referee Anders Frisk - comments which caused the official to retire from football after he received death threats - by sneaking into Chelsea's home dressing room in a laundry basket.

* He has waged a long-running battle against Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger, infamously once branding his rival a 'voyeur' for the Frenchman's repeated comments about him. Mourinho said: 'He is someone who likes to watch other people. There are some guys who have this big telescope to see what happens in other families. He must be one of them.' The pair often refuse to shake hands at matches and have been involved in ugly shoving on the touchline.

* After goalkeeper Petr Cech suffered a fractured skull in a collision during a match against Reading in 2006, Mourinho directed his ire at the Royal Berkshire Ambulance Service. The Chelsea manger claimed it took 30 minutes for an ambulance to arrive, when the service claimed it took six. Mourinho was branded 'ludicrous' and 'an embarrassment' over the incident.

* Mourinho's most unsavoury on-pitch incident came when he was Real Madrid manager in 2011. When an ill-tempered match against fierce rivals Barcelona ended in a melee, Mourinho stole up behind Tito Vilanova, Barca's assistant manager, and poked him in the eye. He was subsequently fined €600 for the incident and handed a two-match ban.

* Last month, Mourinho escaped punishment from the Football Association over comments made to then Chelsea club doctor Eva Carneiro. The governing body found no evidence that he had made discriminatory comments towards Carneiro during a game against Swansea in August. Carneiro was banned from the Chelsea bench for treating Eden Hazard for an injury, which temporarily left Chelsea with only nine men on the pitch. She has since left the club.
