The Manchester United midfielder was visiting a shop in Hale, Cheshire.

The Belgian star will be hoping to return to Louis van Gaal's starting line-up for the first time in the Premier League since the 3-1 win over Liverpool in September.

The first Manchester derby of the season kicks off at 2.05pm on Sunday afternoon at Old Trafford, and after two substitute appearances in the last week at Everton and CSKA Moscow, Fellaini will be itching to start.

The Belgian has a favourable record against Manchester City, but he has picked up more yellow cards - five - than he has scored goals - two - in 12 games.

The 27-year-old's record comes mostly from his time at Everton, where he was on the winning side on five occasions under old manager David Moyes.

Moyes deployed the Belgian in central-midfield against Manchester City when the two wound up at Old Trafford in 2013, with Fellaini given the run-around in a chastening 4-1 defeat only a month into the Scot's ill-fated reign.

He recovered to play a decisive role in the 4-2 win that Louis van Gaal inflicted on his counterpart Manuel Pellegrini at Old Trafford in April last season, the club's first Manchester derby win since a 3-2 win at the Etihad in December 2012.

The Dutchman will be hoping for a similar impact from his Belgian midfielder - be it from the bench or the starting line-up - on Sunday afternoon.
