‘You little s***’: The moment father-to-be Louis Tomlinson pushes a reporter who hasn’t heard 1D's new song Perfect

He's due to become a father for the first time in a matter of months, but Louis Tomlinson has already mastered the art of being a disciplinarian.

Putting a reporter in his place in a pre-show interview on Tuesday, cheeky chappy Louis was filmed slamming BBC radio presenter Stephen Nolan for not preparing ahead of their one-to-one.

Their jovial exchange on the night that One Direction caused uproar for cancelling their Belfast gig was broadcast the next day.

'You little s***': Louis Tomlinson was filmed calling reporter Stephen Nolan a 'little s***' during a jovial interview on Tuesday night in Belfast

Asked to talk about Perfect, One Direction's latest single, Louis said: 'Perfect, yeah, new single. Have you heard it?'

When the reporter admitted 'no,' Louis went on to jest: 'You should have before this interview you little s***' before jokingly jabbing his counterpart in the shoulder.'

Continuing the jovial exchange, Stephen said: 'Don't touch me,' before Louis - who's expecting a baby with an ex-fling in 2016 - asks the band's burly bodyguard Preston Mahon to 'have a word.'

Expletive: The father-to-be will have to wash his mouth out with soap

Sharing a laugh, it's obvious that cheeky chappy Louis was joking with the esteemed BBC reporter during a scheduled chat that was later called off by Louis' bandmate Niall Horan.

Playing down the dispute, Stephen later said on Twitter: 'Before this all gets ridiculous , Louis from One Direction was a nice guy, having fun and a bit of banter.'

It was a change of heart for the Northern Irish presenter, who slammed the band for cancelling the second of his interviews at the last minute and later cancelling their gig because Liam Payne was taken ill.

Fit as a fiddle: BBC radio presenter Stephen, left, proved that Louis Tomlinson was in the vicinity on the night that the band had to call off their gig

Playing it down: Stephen claimed that the exchange was purely banter, even though he had a lot to say about the boys on Tuesday night

He raged on Tuesday: 'I was scheduled to interview Niall at 530pm in Belfast and I was told he had to pull out because he was sick.'

Later he added: 'I was interviewing Louis from One Direction at 530pm tonight. But Harry had a cast on his foot and I was told Niall was sick. Now Liam too !'

Perhaps confused about the names of the bandmembers, he then concluded: 'Louis was as fit as a fiddle tonight in Belfast at 530pm.Niall was supposed to be with him but I was told he was ill'

Sincere: Later that night, Louis sent his heartfelt apologies to the Directioners via Twitter

He took the side of the poor parents who were seen collecting their pre-teens from the SSE Arena when the band pulled out of their performance minutes before coming on stage.

Neither Louis, Niall or Harry Styles came out to excuse for the unfortunate turn of events but instead took to social media with their heart felt apologies.

Stephen added: 'poor @vinnyBelfast told me he was in his PJ's when I asked him to go2Odyssey late tonight 2cover 1Direction illness-he will b gettin soaked!'

Awkward: The exchange went out the next day on Stephen's program
